This position is CONTINGENT upon funding, an open position, customer approval, completion of a favorable background investigation, and the ability to obtain and maintain our customer's sensitive clearance. Our client, the Postal Service CISO organization, is seeking to hire an Automation Specialist to join our dynamic team. The focus of the position is heavily on Automation skills and not Artificial Intelligence. Our customer is looking for someone that can perform automation using their (Postal Services’) current tools (MS Power Tools, Splunk, Databricks, SharePoint, Okta, ServiceNow, etc…) in order to automate audit requests and reports for the CISO Compliance team. Currently they utilize Excel for everything, and he is looking for someone to help build out capabilities to automate and combine data sets to query for the Compliance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing AI-driven systems to automate complex business processes using Postal tools. This includes (Robotic Process Automation (RPA), Machine Learning (ML), and Natural Language Processing (NLP). The role demands experience in system architecture, workflow design, writing code/scripts, and building processes using Postal tools in a hybrid on-prem Windows/Unix/Linux and cloud-based environment. Candidates must be able to collaborate across CISO Security, and CIO teams to automate workflows, ensure data integrity, data accuracy, and support mission-critical operations. Experience with AI/ML libraries, low-code/no-code tools, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), Microsoft Power Tools, Splunk, Databricks, SharePoint, Okta automation, ServiceNow, and an RPA platform is required. Occasional off-hours or weekend efforts may be needed for automation implementation, maintenance, upgrades, and support may be required. REQUIRED : - Work Experience: 5+ years with 2+ years hands-on performing data automation. - Automation Development: Hands on experience with data automation to generate audit requests and reports using Postal Service tools (MS Power Tools, Splunk, Databricks, SharePoint, Okta, ServiceNow, etc…). - Programming: Proficiency in scripting, Python, Java, and/or R. - Technology Stack: Experience with AI/ML libraries, low-code/no-code tools, Microsoft Power Tools, Splunk, Databricks, SharePoint, Okta automation, ServiceNow ticket generation, cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), and an RPA (Robotic Process Automation) platform. - Data Analysis: Ability to analyze large datasets, leveraging multiple tools, to uncover patterns for process optimization. Ability to analyze and troubleshoot complex data ingestion and parsing issues. - Process Management: Knowledge of Business Process Management (BPM) and workflow optimization. - Security Experience: Exposure to network security or cybersecurity - U.S. citizenship is required and the ability to obtain a clearance Key Responsibilities - Solution Design & Development: Create, configure, and deploy automated systems combining AI, machine learning, RPA bots, Microsoft Power Tools, Databricks, and Splunk. - Process Analysis: Understand and analyze repetitive, time-consuming business processes to determine recommended automation solution using Postal tools. - Technical Implementation: Write and update code, build custom scripts, integrate AI models into existing infrastructure like Splunk, Databricks, ServiceNow, and Microsoft Power Tools. - Maintenance & Troubleshooting: Monitor and optimize automation performance, troubleshoot errors, and ensure system scalability. Collaboration: Work with IT and CISO stakeholders to define key performance indicators (KPIs) and align automation with organizational goals. Work Location: Remote Desired Certifications (one or more desired): DOD 8570.1-M Compliance at IAT Level II; CISSP Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, IT, or a related field and 5 years of work experience is required. In lieu of a degree, 10 years of equivalent work experience may be considered. The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance. In this role you will perform production systems integration within a cutting-edge Linux based virtualization stack, streamline and secure applications, storage, physical servers, and install, troubleshoot and maintain customer hardware. Our ideal candidate is detail-oriented and skilled at making data-driven decisions to proactively address issues before they impact end users. By improving invoice resolution, strengthening internal controls, and enhancing coordination across Finance and Supply Chain functions, this role directly supports accurate financial reporting, program execution, and effective cash management across the enterprise. Scope of the Role The Procure-to-Pay Operations Lead serves as the enterprise focal point for monitoring process performance, resolving complex invoice and payment issues, and driving continuous improvement across procure-to-pay operations. The role partners closely with Finance, Supply Chain, Timekeeping, Accounts Payable, and Treasury teams to ensure efficient end-to-end processing and accurate expense recognition. Key responsibilities include: - Identify and resolve invoice and payment discrepancies across the enterprise - Monitor procure-to-pay process performance and address operational bottlenecks - Review and approve subcontractor invoices processed in Costpoint - Implement procedures to support timely and accurate expense recognition, including period-end accruals - Drive operational improvements that enhance internal controls, efficiency, and financial transparency - Analyze financial and operational data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for process improvement What Success Looks Like The successful candidate will establish a strong understanding of Nightwing’s procure-to-pay operations and develop effective working relationships across Finance, Supply Chain, Timekeeping, Accounts Payable, and Treasury. By proactively identifying and addressing invoice and payment discrepancies, the individual will reduce processing delays and improve the overall reliability of the payment cycle. Success in this role will also involve improving visibility into procure-to-pay performance through enhanced monitoring and reporting, enabling leadership to more effectively identify risks and operational bottlenecks. Through close collaboration with cross-functional stakeholders, the candidate will implement practical process improvements and internal controls that strengthen coordination, improve efficiency, and support the timely and accurate recognition of expenses across the enterprise.
