Nexus

• Own architecture across the Exchange domain — and stay hands-on, writing production code in the highest-leverage parts of the system. • Build the full Exchange and all its sub-components: matching engine, risk engine, settlement, data indexing, cold data storage, API / CLI / SDK, oracle, and the underlying infrastructure (Kubernetes, Terraform). • Lead the engineering org — senior engineers plus pods — managing timelines, roadmaps, and resourcing. • Drive product and customer outcomes, business-minded first; drive urgency and high-frequency iteration. • Make the org the most productive and efficient it can be. • Own end-to-end automation of engineering processes: agent infrastructure, logging, telemetry, observability — “closing the loop” with self-improvement loops and maximizing organizational context for agentic execution. • Design team structures and incentives with the CEO and exec team. • Manage an international, distributed workforce. • Drive quality infrastructure — telemetry, observability, and thorough automated testing (e2e, property, fuzz, invariants) — and set the bar for code review, on-call, and incident response, with particular rigor on money-handling paths. Correctness and performance should be continuously provable, not assumed. • Grow ICs and tech leads. • Communicate via design docs, RFCs, and post-mortems.

• Architect and implement the distributed infrastructure powering Nexus’s L1 blockchain and high-performance DEX. • Optimize consensus and transaction pipelines for speed, determinism, fairness, and low latency. • Build secure, production-grade systems that meet the performance requirements of modern financial exchanges. • Develop and maintain high-availability, fault-tolerant infrastructure across cloud and distributed environments. • Offer best practices for reliability, observability, performance engineering, and secure operations.

• Support the deployment and maintenance of distributed infrastructure powering Nexus's L1 blockchain and DEX. • Assist in optimizing transaction pipelines for speed and reliability under senior guidance. • Contribute to building secure, production-grade systems that meet performance requirements. • Help maintain high-availability infrastructure across cloud and distributed environments. • Learn and apply best practices for observability, reliability, and secure operations.

• Own the architecture across Nexus’s product surface • Write production code in critical services and complex integrations • Work across multiple pods to align on system boundaries • Shape engineering practices for stability and quick shipping • Mentor tech leads and develop the next generation of architects • Partner with leadership to turn strategy into technical plans • Write clear design docs and make complex systems understandable

• Design and build backend services in Node.js and Rust for Nexus’s Layer 1 and DEX. • Develop APIs and data pipelines for trading, liquidity, and on-chain verification. • Build and maintain blockchain infrastructure components (RPC endpoints, explorers, dev tools). • Write clean, well-tested code that supports verifiable financial applications.

• Own end-to-end recruiting for technical roles (backend, frontend, infrastructure, etc.) • Hands-on with sourcing and recruiting for backend roles • Partner with hiring managers to define role requirements, scorecards, and hiring strategies • Design and improve interview processes to ensure efficiency, consistency, and strong signal • Develop and maintain a high-quality candidate pipeline • Track and analyze recruiting metrics to improve performance and decision-making • Mentor or guide other recruiters as the team grows

• Manage the full-cycle recruitment process for technical roles across Engineering, Product, and Research functions—from sourcing through offer acceptance. • Partner closely with hiring managers to deeply understand role requirements, team priorities, and hiring goals. • Develop sourcing strategies tailored to the LATAM talent market, with a focus on passive outreach and technical communities. • Build and maintain talent pipelines by engaging with local universities, tech communities, online forums, and events across LATAM. • Deliver an exceptional candidate experience, ensuring clarity, transparency, and engagement throughout the recruitment process.

• Develop and maintain automated test suites for backend services written in Node.js and Rust • Build integration and end-to-end tests covering trading flows, settlement logic, and on-chain verification • Design test cases for APIs, data pipelines, and distributed system components • Assist in implementing CI/CD pipelines to automate testing and deployment validation • Write performance and regression tests to ensure reliability under high-load conditions • Debug issues across services, reproduce bugs, and collaborate with engineers to resolve them • Contribute to improving test coverage, observability, and quality standards across the codebase.

• Design and implement high-performance components in Rust, C++, or Go for Nexus’s DEX engine and protocol runtime. • Build low-latency pipelines for order execution, event propagation, and state updates. • Optimize concurrency, scheduling, memory layout, and I/O paths for determinism and throughput. • Contribute to the evolution of execution abstractions that may be enshrined at the protocol layer. • Work with protocol engineers to ensure safety, composability, and consensus compatibility. • Investigate and resolve performance bottlenecks using profiling, tracing, and benchmarking techniques. • Help define standards for reliability, correctness, and high-assurance distributed execution. • For senior/principal candidates: Drive system design decisions, shape execution architecture, and mentor others in performance engineering.
