Role Description The Account Manager III is responsible for managing a defined geographic region with a focus on meeting sales revenue objectives while maintaining and building customer relationships. This position will focus on obtaining customers in the areas of academia, industrial, contract research accounts and similar opportunities. - Develops and maintains relationships with potential and existing customers and acts as a liaison between the customers and technical staff to ensure thorough understanding of product/instrument portfolios. - Manages the full life cycle of new client account set up. Provides guidance to other account managers on development of new accounts. - Provides expert guidance and develops solutions to any obstacles/developments that may arise during implementation of account set up. - Maintains in-depth knowledge of a complete portfolio of products including all capital, consumable and services. - Leads the development and implementation of strategies designed to expand industrial, academic and/or government accounts. Provides guidance to other account managers in developing strategies for growth. - Oversees the integration of Field Application Scientists in the strategic selling process to ensure growth of instruments and consumable product sales. - Actively participate in team meetings and activities associated with departmental strategy, planning, and other goals, initiatives and priorities. Present information and expertise in a professional and diplomatic manner on relevant topics and discussions that will provide guidance/influence to others on the team. - Specific duties may vary depending upon specific department/territory requirements. Qualifications - B.S. in Life Science, Engineering or related field. - A minimum of ten years of account management experience managing multiple geographic regions. - Industrial sales and/or academic required. Requirements - Advanced knowledge of HTS, Molecular Biology and competitive technology systems. - Advanced technical background. - Proven sales record and contacts in industrial, academic, and/or government sales. - Proven ability to create and maintain robust base. - Expert knowledge and experience in the industrial and academic arenas required. - Strong business acumen, negotiation and mediation skills, as well as a demonstrated attention to detail and a focus on achieving quality outcomes. - Ability to build/foster relationships. - Demonstrated critical thinking and analytical skills, as well as the ability to handle complex situations and demonstrate sound judgment and problem-solving. - A professional presence and strong interpersonal skills for interacting in a courteous, timely, and diplomatic manner with customers. - Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills. - Proficiency in MS Office Suite, WebEx or related teleconferencing software. - Proficiency in SalesForce or related CRM. - A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected including the ability to multi-task and work productively in a demanding research environment with changing priorities. - Ability to travel extensively that can include overnight stays and working outside normal business hours as needed. Role Description The Production Planner is responsible for aiding in the management of daily planning operations. This position will set production schedules, manage open work orders and oversee the full production cycle from incoming raw materials to quality control of finished goods. Duties and Responsibilities - Create and maintain production schedules for operations - Create, coordinate and execute work orders - Monitor and react to system generated JDE MRP messages - Work with Purchasing to establish delivery dates from suppliers for work orders - Inventory control - Monitor and maintain inventory stock levels for all materials - Set up reorder points - Monitor and suggest cost saving measures through lot sizes and safety stock of all materials - Participate in the MRB change control process - Disposition products from a planning standpoint - Create plans to execute the change if it affects inventory and/or an order status - Cross Functional Collaboration - Participate in departmental meetings to provide input into the design and implementation of product quality planning systems and procedures - Interface with other departments on continuous improvement of production planning - Presentation of production results to colleagues and managers - Work closely with MRB Coordinator regarding non-conforming materials - Interface with internal customers - Aid in the development of planning policies and procedures - Monitor and report planning, inventory, and execution metrics - Perform special projects on request - Specific duties may vary depending upon departmental requirements Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in business, logistics or related field required - Additional experience may be substituted for a Bachelor’s degree - Minimum 2 years experience in Production Planning, preferably in the Bio-tech sector preferred. - Experience running ERP/MRP Systems - Preferably JD Edwards - APICS (American Production and Inventory Control Society) certification a plus Knowledge, Skills and Abilities - Strong logistics fundamentals and analytical background - Logical problem solving and demonstrated ability to organize and move project tasks forward in an orderly and structured fashion - Track record of successful production planning, inventory management and executing metrics - Demonstrate working knowledge of cGMP, ISO and International regulations - Demonstrate understanding of MRB management - Experience on a change control board - Articulate experience with developing, implementing and maintaining production planning compliance - Excellent oral, written communication and interpersonal skills - Effectively communicate issues/problems and results that impact timelines, accuracy and reliability of data - Effectively communicate production goals and expectations - Proficient in MS Office Suite; specifically MS Excel - A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected including the ability to multi-task and work productively in a demanding research environment with changing priorities Physical Demands - This position requires the ability to communicate and exchange information, utilize equipment necessary to perform the job, and move about the office. - There are aspects of the positions duties that require a person in this role to work at heights above four (4) feet on occasion. - May be required to lift boxes up to 25lbs. Work Environment - This position is performed in a traditional manufacturing office environment. Compensation Summary The annual base salary for this position ranges from $67,900 to $101,000. This salary range represents a general guideline as MSD considers other factors when presenting an offer of employment, such as scope and responsibilities of the position, external market factors, and the candidate’s knowledge, skills, abilities, education and experience. Employees may qualify for a discretionary or non-discretionary bonus in addition to their base salary.
