Role Description Are you a compassionate and experienced Remote Area Nurse seeking a truly rewarding career opportunity? Step into a role that goes beyond healthcare and embraces holistic, community-centered care with Miwatj Health Aboriginal Corporation. As a Remote Area Nurse, you will deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to remote communities across East Arnhem Land. Your role will go beyond clinical practice, making a meaningful impact through: - Health Education & Prevention: Lead programs focused on Chronic Disease, Child Health, and Rheumatic Heart Disease, promoting long-term community wellness. - Community Advocacy: Support vaccination programs and health initiatives that improve overall outcomes for the region. - Empowerment & Leadership: Mentor and guide Aboriginal Health Practitioners (AHPs) and students, fostering the next generation of healthcare professionals. Qualifications - Current Registration and Practicing Certificate as Registered Nurse through AHPRA. - Current Remote Emergency Care Course certificate and/or Advanced Life Support certificate. - Current accredited immunisation certificate (recognised in the NT). - Remote Pharmacotherapeutic Certificate (or equivalent). - Manual driver’s license. - 3 – 5 years post-graduate experience with advanced clinical skills and competencies applicable to remote settings. Requirements - Understanding of and commitment to Aboriginal Community Control and self-determination. - Ability to triage, work independently, and participate in afterhours emergency calls and First Response. - Willingness to travel in small charter planes. - Ability to drive a 4WD is favorable. Benefits - Competitive casual hourly rate of $81.88 – $87.97. - Fully subsidized housing and electricity. - Flights provided. - Opportunity for on-call and overtime payments. - Ability to salary package up to $15,900 per annum plus a further $2,650 per annum on Meals and Entertainment. - 12% Superannuation. - Eligibility for the NT Thrive Relocation Grant – financial support of up to $10,000 for moving, housing, wellbeing, cultural training, short courses, and professional upskilling.
