Role Description Milestone Business Solutions is seeking a remote Payroll Specialist to collaborate with our internal team and small-business clients. You will administer weekly, bi-weekly and semi-monthly payroll for companies across the country in various systems and industries. You will provide our clients with innovative, structured solutions that scale, add value and build trust. A Day in the Life - Accurately process client payroll, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and internal policies. - Ensure hours are properly imported from Time & Attendance systems. - Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g., new hires, terminations, raises, etc.). - Maintain accurate records and prepare reports. - Submit 401k and HSA contributions as needed. - Resolve issues and answer payroll-related questions. - Maintain a working knowledge of all payroll-related systems used by our clients (including 401K and HRIS) to serve our clients' needs now and provide recommendations for their business in the future. Qualifications - 4+ years of direct, hands-on payroll experience. - Experience working with multi-state companies/clients. - In-depth knowledge of payroll compliance. - Excellent time management and strict adherence to deadlines. - Experience in some or all of the following systems is highly preferred: Gusto, Paylocity, Rippling, ADP, Paychex, iSolved, Paycom. - Certifications like CPP or FPC are preferred but not required. - Bachelor's degree preferred. Experience accepted in lieu of a degree. Role Description Milestone Business Solutions is seeking a full-time, remote HR Generalist to work collaboratively with our internal team and small business clients. You will work with our client companies in a variety of industries and geographies, helping to ensure their HR function operates smoothly, creating positive company cultures, and providing assistance and resources to their teams throughout the employee lifecycle. A Day in the Life - Onboard and offboard team members - Maintain employee files and process documentation - Revise and update company handbooks, including first drafts of new policies - Ensure compliance with applicable federal and state labor regulations - Assist with leave management, including FMLA - Assist with benefits enrollment and inquiries - Coordinate performance reviews and stay interviews - Coordinate workplace investigations, preparing reports as needed - Oversee processing of payroll changes (e.g. new hires, terminations, raises) and system updates - Support talent acquisition efforts with resume reviews, phone screens, and reference checks Qualifications - A minimum of 3 years of HR experience - A consulting mindset with excellent communication skills and a focus on customer service - Excellent attention to detail with strong organizational and prioritization skills - Understanding of HR processes, best practices, and compliance - Experience working with multi-state companies/clients is a plus - Bachelor's degree preferred, SHRM-CP or PHR a plus Requirements - This is a remote position with required travel to the Indianapolis, Indiana area 2 - 3 times per year - Candidates within a reasonable driving distance of Indianapolis are preferred Benefits - Competitive compensation and benefits - Paid time away from work benefits - Flexible work environment Company Description Milestone is a rapidly growing professional services firm that provides Outsourced Accounting and HR services to small and medium-sized businesses.
