Role Description Part of the Technology, Transformation and Insights team, the Deputy Director is a new and exciting role at Migrant Help. You will provide compassionate and entrepreneurial Technology leadership, with a primary focus on delivering quality Technology Products that equip staff to deliver the best possible service to Migrant Help’s clients. You will be required to partner closely with the Head of Analytics and Head of PMO to ensure alignment, prioritisation and effective end-to-end delivery and support across Technology, Innovation and Insight. You will provide inclusive operational leadership and delivery assurance for Migrant Help’s technology estate, translating organisational strategy into reliable, secure and well-managed digital services. Role Responsibilities - Technology products and platforms: - Hold senior accountability for Migrant Help’s technology products, with particular emphasis on the Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform estate that serve its clients. - Provide strategic and operational oversight of the Dynamics 365 product teams, including platform design, technical standards, roadmap development and prioritisation. - Ensure technology products are designed, delivered and operated in line with organisational strategy, contractual obligations, user experience expectations and regulatory requirements. - Lead the safe, ethical and effective adoption of AI and agentic capabilities within technology products, ensuring appropriate governance, risk management, assurance and capacity building/behaviour influencing. - Lead a revolution in the quality of knowledge management systems and behaviours. - Technology operations and service management: - Provide senior operational leadership for Migrant Help’s technology service desk, ensuring stability, resilience, performance and continuous improvement. - As a member of the Change Advisory Board, oversee service management disciplines, including incident, problem, change and release management, ensuring they are proportionate and effective. - Act as a senior escalation point for major technology incidents, risks and service failures, engaging with the Information Security team and risk management function. - Supplier and commercial management: - Own senior relationships with technology suppliers, including managed service providers, platform vendors and specialist partners, including on compliance matters. - Oversee the design and operation of SLAs, KPIs and service performance measures across Migrant Help and Clear Voice, holding suppliers to account for outcomes and value for money. - Ensure supplier arrangements support strategic success, resilience, scalability, security, continuous improvement, and align with Migrant Help’s values. - Leadership and people management: - Provide compassionate line management, coaching and professional leadership to all direct line reports, and set strong performance and behavioural standards across TII. - Develop leadership capability and operational maturity within the Technology function, empowering leaders to take ownership and make decisions with confidence. - Promote a leader–leader culture that reduces dependency, strengthens resilience and builds sustainable capability. - Model Migrant Help’s values and foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, psychological safety and continuous improvement across TII. - Governance, risk and assurance: - Ensure robust operational governance across technology products and services, including security, data protection, access control and compliance with relevant standards (Cyber Essentials, Cyber Essentials Plus, ISO 27001). - Identify, manage and mitigate technology-related risks, contributing to organisational risk registers and assurance processes. - Provide clear, evidence-based reporting to the executive on technology performance, risks and priorities, and be comfortable deputising for the CIO. - Stakeholder engagement: - Act as a senior partner to Heads of Service and senior stakeholders, translating organisational needs into deliverable technology solutions. - Support clear communication between technology teams and the wider organisation, building trust and setting realistic expectations. - Represent the TII directorate internally and externally as required. - Cross-TII leadership (Technology, Analytics and PMO): - Act as a senior leader across Technology, Analytics and PMO, helping to align ways of working, priorities and delivery approaches across TII. - Work in close partnership with the TII Leadership Group to ensure technology products, data insight and delivery governance operate as a coherent system. - Support the CIO in creating clarity of ownership, decision-making and accountability across the directorate, and throughout its upwards reporting chain. Qualifications - Extensive experience in senior technology leadership roles (e.g., Head, Deputy Director) with accountability for delivering measurable performance outcomes in complex, multi-stakeholder operating environments, including regulated settings. - Proven experience leading enterprise-scale technology products and platforms, particularly Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Power Platform or equivalent case management ecosystems. - Experience preparing and delivering quality written and verbal briefs for senior leadership teams and decision-makers, including Trustee boards. - Experience overseeing the safe and effective use of AI-enabled or automated capabilities, including governance, risk and assurance.
