Qualifications - 8+ years of experience in mechanical engineering design, with at least 5 years focused on data centers or mission-critical facilities. - Master's Degree in Mechanical Engineering. - Professional Engineer (PE) license required and in good standing. - Demonstrated experience acting as Engineer of Record (EOR) for mechanical systems. - Strong leadership skills with proven experience managing and mentoring engineering teams. - In-depth knowledge of ASHRAE standards, building codes, and energy modeling principles. - Proficiency in Revit, AutoCAD, and mechanical design software (e.g., Carrier HAP, Trace 700). - Excellent communication and client-facing skills. - Experience with hyperscale or colocation data center projects. - Knowledge of sustainability and energy efficiency practices. - Familiarity with commissioning processes and field inspections. The scope of projects will include data centers, industrial buildings, offices and other high-profile construction projects. This role will be highly collaborative amongst Meade staff, clients, vendors, and external disciplines. Travel to job sites may be required for site observations and client meetings. Job Duties: - Independently drive projects forward throughout design and construction phases. - Design mechanical and plumbing systems for data centers. - Oversee the production of all mechanical designs, systems and drawings. - Work amongst a cross-discipline design team, owners, and contractors to develop drawings and specifications. - Coordinate with external vendors, internal design teams and manufacturers. - Major equipment selection and scheduling. Minimum Qualifications: - 7+years of Professional Mechanical Engineering design experience designing mechanical systems for data centers or other mission critical projects favorable. - Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. - Valid Mechanical Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred (will consider 6 years of experience with PE license). - Experience working independently, and managing priorities and providing mentorship to junior staff. - Strong understanding of mechanical systems and energy codes. - Ability to think strategically and demonstrate flexibility in order to achieve long-range objectives. - Self-motivated, comfortable with ambiguity and motivated to work as a team. - Top-notch organization, attention to detail combined with excellent written and oral communication skills. - Proficiency with MS Office, AutoCAD, BlueBeam, BIM and Revit.
