This is a hybrid role based out of our Overland Park, Kansas office. The position is salaried and includes eligibility for overtime pay. The purpose of the Project Manager position is to ensure the successful completion of projects. This includes large multi-discipline, major single discipline, and/or systems integration projects, both EPC and services only. Emphasis is placed on project profitability, schedule compliance, communications and documentation, use of project management techniques, and client interaction and support. The Project Manager provides the management expertise necessary to satisfy the clients’ and Matrix Technologies' project requirements and objectives, thereby placing the Company in a favorable position for repeat business with assigned clients. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Implementing proposal procedures and action plans - Reviewing resource assignments with appropriate department managers - Developing and maintaining project schedules and budgets - Providing scope control, change management, and risk identification - Develop and nurture client and project team professional relationships - Directing and coordinating technical activities - Initiating, documenting, and facilitating project communication with client, project team, and project stakeholders - Ensuring all contractual requirements are satisfied - Maintaining records of purchased materials and subcontracts - Issuing and administering subcontracts and associated documentation - Managing the oversight of construction for EPC projects - Coordinating commercial activities (e.g. billing, procurement) with the accounting department and assisting with A/R collections, when needed - Recommend changes to SOP to support the Company's continuous improvement efforts and share expertise in the field of project management to enhance overall performance - Maintain positive client relationships and develop potential work opportunities - Provide resource managers with professional feedback on personnel assigned to project teams related to performance, attitude, potential, and/or problem areas as appropriate - Represent Matrix Technologies in professional organizations and societies related to the fields of project management and/or engineering QUALIFICATIONS - Bachelor’s degree in engineering, construction management, or architecture required - PE and/or PMP (preferred) - Four years or more of Project Management experience - 7 years or more of engineering experience - Experience in industrial manufacturing (preferred) - Experience with multi-discipline engineering and EPC projects (preferred) - Ability to travel 25% - 50% locally and 10%-20% overnight PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; stoop, kneel, crouch; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; talk, and hear. - The employee must frequently lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds. - Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color, vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. - This employee may perform industrial field work which could include exposure to hazardous locations, inclement weather, moving mechanical parts, noise, ladders, uneven ground, and stairs. - This employee may perform industrial field work which could include exposure to a wide range of known food allergens. This position provides assistance by reviewing and publishing internal and project documentation using company standards. Candidate requirements include 3-5+ years' experience as an administrative assistant or technical writer, and an associate degree or higher in a correlated field is preferred. This position requires an eye for detail, a high level of organizational and multitasking ability, and strong communication skills. Candidate must be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as general computer skills. Familiarity with Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, and OneNote is preferred. Experience in the engineering or technical industry field is a bonus! The engineering industry requires continued education due to the ever-changing technical world, so a good candidate would be a quick learner with an inquiring mind who can work well in a team or individually and who can provide great service to our clients. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Proofread, edit, format, and publish documentation and proposals needed by staff of all levels while ensuring compliance to corporate standards. - Review documents and ensure proper spelling, grammar, and general math equations (sum, difference, product, quotient, etc.). - Copy, assemble, and distribute work produced in a timely manner. - Enter data and schedules into the project management system. - Meet deadlines and prioritize workload. - Contribute to the upkeep of the team tools and processes. - Actively participate in weekly department and division meetings or trainings whenever necessary. - Must be flexible to take on additional tasks to assist company including but not limited to composing emails, printing and scanning documents, schedule and assist with meetings/lunches, answering phones, office supply inventory management, mail distribution, and other duties as assigned. The Senior DeltaV Lead serves as the technical authority and delivery lead for Emerson DeltaV Distributed Control System (DCS) solutions in regulated manufacturing environments, with a primary focus on pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. This role is responsible for establishing, executing, and scaling DeltaV automation capabilities while delivering high-quality, low-risk solutions across the full system lifecycle. The position combines deep hands-on engineering expertise with technical leadership, client engagement, and internal capability development. The successful candidate will help position DeltaV as a trusted automation platform by executing targeted projects, developing internal standards, mentoring engineers, and ensuring consistent, compliant, and sustainable system designs. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES - Focuses on the growth and development of DeltaV throughout the company. - Serve as the senior technical authority for DeltaV engineering standards, best practices, and design decisions. - Develops or improves processes, procedures, and templates associated with DeltaV, and coordinates with the Department Managers on the corresponding rollout and training. - Maintains expert-level competencies on the latest DeltaV trends and tools Matrix should incorporate to stay on the leading edge of the industry by attending trade shows, training, and networking events as needed. - Acts as a DeltaV consultant, providing expertise as required. - Provides training and technical direction to address skill gaps and identifies the skills that project teams require to effectively complete an assignment. Helps staff resolve technical problems and/or challenges that might arise on a project. - Ensures all staff utilizing DeltaV on projects have the correct tools, hardware, software, and training to adhere to latest design processes and procedures. - Works with the staff to ensure technical accuracy and soundness of engineering practices based on sound design criteria, specifications, and standards as related to the project requirements. - Develops and maintains quality assurance programs for DeltaV. Ensures designs incorporating DeltaV are properly reviewed and tested. Routinely checks programs and applications to monitor the development of staff and the work produced. - Reviews and assesses quality issues and develops continual improvement measures. - Coordinate and assist in sales efforts for DeltaV project opportunities by acting as the primary technical point of contact for DeltaV‑related client engagements. - Develop proposals and estimates associated with DeltaV in coordination with sales and project management. - Collaborates with Department Managers on hiring plans relative to skill set, location, project needs, and strategic directives. - Assists Department Managers in the hiring process, with a focus on evaluating the technical acumen of the candidates. - Works in a safe manner at all times.
