Outreach Coordinator - Bilingual Spanish (Part-Time) Remote Part time United States Description Malama leverages the best of technology and people to deliver exceptional care - we build novel biometric tracking and patient engagement tools that allow skilled Care Managers to provide high-touch care navigation and coordination for pregnant and postpartum mothers that improves health outcomes for mom and baby. Our model is built on culturally congruent, trauma-informed care — meeting members where they are: in their homes, clinics, and communities. We’ve raised $9.2M in funding to date and are on target to hit profitability early this year. Our mission is to improve pregnancy-related outcomes beginning with conditions that disproportionately affect historically underserved groups. We’re hiring a part-time, bilingual Outreach Coordinator (Spanish) to support Malama’s member outreach and enrollment operations. This role is the front door for many members: responding to inbound inquiries, executing structured outbound follow-ups, screening for eligibility, and coordinating warm handoffs into care navigation. If you’re highly responsive, organized, and comfortable managing high-touch communication workflows with empathy and follow-through, this role could be a great fit. Role Responsibilities - Member outreach & engagement - Respond to inbound calls/messages within 24 hours (SLA) - Execute structured outbound follow-ups (3 attempts within 7 days) to reach and re-engage members - Communicate clearly and compassionately with pregnant and postpartum members, including navigating sensitive situations - Eligibility screening & enrollment support - Verify coverage using insurance portals and collect basic eligibility information (e.g., pregnancy/postpartum status) - Determine program eligibility and guide members through intake steps (including helping complete questionnaires when needed) - Set expectations for next steps and support members who are not eligible with alternative resources (e.g., doula matching, basic resource navigation) - Care coordination & handoffs - Schedule and confirm next-step appointments (e.g., New Mother Visit) and ensure clean handoff to the appropriate care team - Maintain accurate documentation of outreach attempts, outcomes, and member preferences - Documentation & cross-team communication - Document outcomes in Malama’s EHR and internal tracking tools - Coordinate timely updates with internal teams while protecting member privacy and following HIPAA practices - Provider/referrer follow-up (as needed) - Follow up with referring providers and partners to share enrollment status and next steps, with clear documentation Requirements - Bilingual Spanish (spoken and written) - 1+ year of experience in outreach, care coordination, customer support, or call center operations (healthcare experience preferred) - Strong verbal and written communication skills; high empathy and professionalism - Comfort working in a fast-paced environment with structured workflows and time-based SLAs - Highly organized; strong attention to detail; reliable follow-through - Comfort using multiple tools/systems (e.g., CRM/portal, Slack, tracking tools) - Mission-driven, Impact-oriented - You are passionate about health, technology, and Malama's mission to improve maternal health outcomes and close equity gaps Preferred - Experience working with Medi-Cal, WIC, FQHCs, and/or community-based maternal health programs - Experience working with Protected Health Information (PHI) and HIPAA-aligned practices - Experience with EHR documentation and high-volume outreach queues Benefits - Compensation: $20–$24/hour + performance bonus - Hours: ~15–25 hours/week (part-time) - Work arrangement: Fully remote - Applications reviewed on a rolling basis - apply early!
