• Work as part of the senior engineering leadership team to help build a quality engineering organisation • Assist squad leaders to maintain their backlog providing assistance with architecture and stakeholder management. • Collaborate with engineering practice leads to improve core engineering practices across backend, front end, infrastructure and quality practices • Help to monitor squads' delivery cadence and work with a team on improving their efficiency • Promote sound, modern engineering practices and tools within the squads (TDD, pair programming, efficient branching strategies, etc) • Teach and mentor your squads on making sound technology choices, software design practices and the ways of working • Mentor and grow Engineers under your care • Collaborate on and recommend sound DevOps practices in the teams • Manage direct reports - Engineering Team Leads in each of your squads

• Set the bar by defining and embedding top quality coding standards and architectural patterns across the entire engineering org. • Collaborate with the CTO, Product leaders and senior business leaders to turn ambitious business visions into scalable technical reality. • Provide technical truth and advice to help leadership make sound decisions on company goals. • Debt crush by identifying systemic bottlenecks and technical debt that slow us down, then engineer the way out. • Force multiply our team - mentor and level-up Engineers across the department. • Plan and pivot technical strategies for complex projects to keep delivery synchronised with business objectives. • Lead high-level code reviews that protect the integrity and performance of our group ecosystem. • Innovate and promote a culture of continuous learning and improvement to ensure our tech and people remains a competitive advantage.

• Work as part of a cross-functional squad to deliver high-quality features • Assist in maintaining the product backlog alongside the product manager by providing technical input on initiative prioritisation and ensuring epics are broken down into uniformly sized tasks and sequenced for delivery • Help to monitor team’s delivery cadence and work with a team on improving on their efficiency • Promote sound, modern engineering practices and tools within the squad (TDD, pair programming, efficient branching strategies, etc) • Teach and mentor your squad on making sound technology choices, software design practices and the ways of working • Work on non-functional requirements of our software projects alongside our Infrastructure Engineers, Principle Engineers, Engineering Managers and Quality Coaches • Collaborate on and recommend sound DevOps practices in the team • Manage direct reports for at most one squad
