Role Description Liftoff Campaigns is seeking a talented communications strategist to join our growing team. Our ideal candidate has experience with media relations, social media strategy and execution, and principal preparation and management. You will have a great deal of independence in your day to day work with support from the larger communications team. You will execute on a range of communications initiatives and serve as a trusted advisor to our clients. - Work with Liftoff’s communications team to develop and execute strategic communications plans for clients, tailored to their goals and audiences. - Develop social media strategies and execute channel management. Work with clients to develop and execute social and nontraditional media plans. - Contribute to media prep for candidates and organizational leaders, including for interviews, debates, speeches, and other public appearances. - Craft compelling written materials including press releases, talking points, op-eds, and other external communications materials. - Pitch and shape stories with reporters and influencers, cultivating strong relationships to secure coverage and placements. - Coordinate client media engagements. - Support crisis communications and rapid-response messaging. - Plan and execute press events, including press conferences and media roundtables. - Support clients’ internal communications staff in executing communications projects. - Monitor and analyze media coverage, identifying opportunities to refine and amplify messaging. - Collaborate with the advertising, creative and digital teams at Liftoff to maximize communications and digital opportunities, and to ensure message consistency across all channels. Qualifications - Passion for good causes. - 3-5 years of experience in political communications with at least 1 campaign cycle of experience in a dedicated communications role. - A strong writer with experience across the gamut of political writing, from long-form blog posts and op-eds to concise talking points to punchy and effective social media copy. - A track record of successfully pitching stories to the media and/or placements with influencers. - Proven ability to craft persuasive messaging and adapt communication strategies for various platforms and audiences. - Strategic thinker with political instincts and an ability to respond effectively under pressure. - Exceptional organizational and time management skills, with experience balancing multiple projects and deadlines. - Experience developing social media strategies and content across various platforms. - Drive to go the extra mile for clients, and a willingness to be part of a collaborative team that works beyond the 9-5 when required. Liftoff is seeking a talented Data Director to join our growing team. Liftoff is an innovative digital fundraising and communications firm. Our clients are statewide and local political campaigns, advocates, non-profits, and changemakers working to advance Democratic priorities. The ideal candidate will thrive on creating and maintaining tools and systems, on building and optimizing internal processes for ingesting newly acquired email contacts, on creating reporting structures and generating accurate and visually appealing data outputs, and—most of all—on partnering with the email and leadership teams to figure out how we bring more science to the art of fundraising.
