Job Duties: Performs highly sensitive legal research and other professional legal services for the Kansas Supreme Court. Work includes the preparation of legal memoranda for justices of the Supreme Court on matters before them. Work is performed under general supervision of a justice or supervising attorney and is reviewed through conferences and written reports. Work involves highly confidential pending legal matters. Incumbent serves at the pleasure of the appointing justice. Examples of Work Performed: Reviews, studies, researches and annotates laws, court decisions, documents, opinions, briefs, and related legal authorities to process petitions for review to the Supreme Court, appeals, original actions, and other litigated matters. Job Duties: This is a technical position involving the development, maintenance, and support of data reporting solutions and database systems. Responsibilities include producing statistical and operational reports, ensuring the accuracy and completeness of data, and assisting with database administration, performance, access, and system support functions. Internal candidates will be considered first. Job duties: This is a supervisory role and a program liaison between the the Office of Judicial Administration and stake holders within the Kansas court system to include the Supreme Court, Court of Appeals and district courts. Work primarily revolves around managing and supporting centralized payment processing and advising on procedures, policies, technology, and legislation affecting this program. There is significant fiscal responsibility with this position. Responsibilities include coordinating and overseeing the following processes: district and appellate court receipts, deposits, and disbursements; overseeing financial policies and procedures and ensuring conformity with procedures relating to district and appellate courts; and troubleshooting financial issues for judicial branch statewide. Work includes performing specialized accounting tasks that follow established GAAP procedures and supervising the Central Payments Center (CPC) case processing teams to enhance financial controls, visibility, and efficiencies statewide. This position will work with the Director of Central Payments to develop and document accounting policies and procedures; oversee training district court employees; and work in unison with Director and CFO to ensure compliance with policies, statutes, orders, and goals for the judicial branch. Required education and experience: Bachelor’s degree in business administration, public administration, accounting, criminal justice, or related field and at least three years of experience working with financials with the Kansas courts in a managerial capacity.
