Role Description Reporting directly to the Senior Manager of Content Services, the Content Services Student is a specialist responsible for developing, creating, and executing multimedia content for both web and social. They are well-versed in a variety of content-creation techniques to effectively tell stories and capture moments pertinent to Hockey Canada programs and initiatives. - Execute digital and social media coverage, including Hockey Canada Foundation, Team Canada, domestic and international events, and grassroots programming. - Contributing producer for the Hockey Canada content team, including written and video content such as: - Hockey Canada features - Team Canada features - Domestic and international event coverage - Hockey Canada Foundation - Partner content - Member content - Work alongside Creative Services in the development and design of video by capturing, editing, and posting short-form videos (e.g., TikTok, Instagram Reels, and YouTube Shorts) on Hockey Canada’s channels. - Execute social media campaigns, including but not limited to: - #HCSkillsCoach - NHL/NHLPA First Shift - BFL Women In Coaching Award - Days of Recognition - UGC content - Execute sponsorship, marketing, brand, community, corporate communications, and human resources content via digital and social media. - Utilize Hockey Canada’s brand voice, graphical look and feel, and tone in social and digital content. - Work collaboratively with the Hockey Canada content team to brainstorm and produce engaging social media content at Team Canada camps and international and domestic events. - Review archival content (e.g., photos, videos) for opportunities to produce new content pieces for social media and the website. - Monitor and research best practices, social media trends, technologies, networks, and applications to constantly update and evolve Hockey Canada and the Hockey Canada Foundation’s comprehensive social media strategy. Qualifications - Post-secondary education in Journalism, Communications, Marketing, New Media, or a related field. - Experience developing content for all forms of social media. - Strong understanding of the current social media landscape, including creating and strategizing organic content for TikTok, Instagram, X, Facebook, and other emerging platforms. - Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including writing social media copy, feature stories, and marketing content. Published work in a major publication, notable website, or newspaper is an asset. - Experience in graphic design, video production, and editing, and using Adobe Creative Cloud software (Photoshop and Premiere Pro) is an asset. - Experience using social media management systems and content management systems is an asset. - Passionate about a career in the sports and entertainment industry. - Demonstrated attention to detail and proofreading skills. - Expects the highest-quality performance from self and others. - Strategic thinker and creative storyteller with excellent interpersonal skills. - High level of poise and professionalism. - Ability to prioritize workload and solve problems quickly. - Results-driven with the ability to set and deliver on priorities. - Self-motivated with the ability to work in a team environment. - Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset. - Satisfactory Criminal Record Check, including Vulnerable Sector Verification. Coordinator, Growth and Retention Location: Calgary, Alberta, Canada Department: Member Engagement (Dept.) Job Description: APPLICATION DEADLINE: April 26, 2026 ABOUT THE ROLE Under the supervision of the Senior Manager, Growth and Retention, the Coordinator, Growth & Retention will coordinate the day-to-day operations and logistics of Growth and Retention programs (First Shift, Dreams Come True, Pathway to Hockey) and assist with Women and Girls Hockey initiatives (Esso Fun Days, World Girls Ice Hockey Weekend, Global Girls Game), while also providing support on various tasks related to the overall Growth and Retention strategy to ensure its successful implementation. HOW YOU WILL CONTRIBUTE TO THE OVERALL MISSION OF HOCKEY CANADA - Updating of critical paths and calendar of commitments related to programs and specific events - Work together with supervisor on program analysis and reports - Coordinate tasks related to specific programs: NHL/NHLA First Shift - Portal management and liaison with supplier - Collect updates and feedback from partners - Carry out daily refunds and transfers - Prepare weekly reports to include Participants, MHA applications and Input selection process decisions for all applicants - Payment portal - Review monthly statements, Collaborate with Finance Department on wire transfers, prepare reports as required - Manage the First Shift inbox, provide responses in a timely fashion and transfer emails to Bauer managers - Attend weekly First Shift partner calls - Support Members with event delivery, provide in person and collateral support at selected events - Coordinate the collection of data to support supervisor in decision making and reporting.
