Responsibilities Essential Duties and Tasks - Opens the Center daily. - Conducts monthly checks of emergency equipment throughout the Center to ensure that it is functioning properly. - Develops, manages and implements comprehensive health and wellness programs for senior population. - Provides one-on-one, personal training programming (HealthyFIT) as developed by the licensed therapists and communicates with them regularly regarding the resident's participation or lack there of. - Plans, coordinates, and conducts health and wellness related educational presentations; contacts and schedules varied speakers from local health related organizations and businesses; seeks input from participants; researches potential topics regarding health awareness, exercise and fitness, medication management and safety issues. - Oversees the Center's fitness room and instructs seniors on the proper use of Fitness equipment. - Coordinates repair and maintenance of fitness equipment. - Coordinates and schedules health provider services offered at the Senior Center, e.g. blood pressure checks and hearing tests; serves as coordinator with the Parks and Recreation Department for Senior Games; coordinates Project Heat Relief. - Develops additional health resources for the Senior Center through community education and volunteer recruitment. - Serves as team leader with other staff and seniors to plan and carry out the logistics of the Senior Games opening ceremonies. - Organizes focus groups to solicit feedback on existing fitness/wellness programs offered at the Senior Center. - Collects data and develops outcomes measurements for health and fitness programs. - Prepares publicity materials and promotes the activities at the Center through a variety of media venues. - Participates in other center activities as appropriate and as needed. - Covers the Reception Desk and provide daily assistance to clients; helps clients complete applications; assists with daily tours; handles cash and prepares receipts for deposit on a weekly or bi-weekly basis. - Serves as Coordinator of the Wellness Committee. Professionals who are certified at the BCBA level are independent practitioners who provide behavior-analytic services. In addition, BCBAs supervise the work of Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analysts, Registered Behavior Technicians, and others who implement behavior-analytic interventions. Individuals who hold the BCBA credential should be considered as having met and exceeded standards for the BCaBA and RBT credentials. Individuals who hold the BCaBA credential should be considered as having met and exceeded standards for the RBT credential. However, individuals holding a BACB credential should represent themselves using only the credential(s) awarded to them by the BACB. - BCBAs must abide by the Professional and Ethical Compliance Code for Behavior Analysts. - BCBAs who wish to provide supervision must complete additional training and continuing education requirements. Board Certified Assistant Behavior Analyst (BCaBA) Eligibility Requirements Qualifications The BCBA certification requires an acceptable degree, acceptable coursework, acceptable practical experience, and passing the BCaBA exam. - Degree.  Applicants must possess a minimum of a bachelor's degree from a qualifying accredited institution. The bachelor's degree may be in any discipline. - Coursework must come from a qualifying accredited institution and cover the required content outlined in the BACB's Fourth Edition Task List and Course Content Allocation documents. Only courses where the applicant was formally enrolled and earned a passing grade ("C" or better for graded courses) are acceptable. - Coursework may come from an Approved Course Sequence (ACS), although other coursework may also be acceptable. - ACS Coursework: The BACB works with institutions to identify and approve sequences of classes that meet the BACB's coursework requirements. When applicants present a transcript with a passing grade, students do not need to submit the course syllabi with their applications for exam. - Listing of Approved Course Sequences - Pass Rates for Approved Course Sequences - Other Coursework: Coursework that is not from an approved course sequence must be reviewed in order to determine whether it covered the required content for the minimum amount of instructional hours. • The BACB will only make determinations about the acceptability of non-approved coursework as either (a) part of a formal application for exam or (b) an independent application for coursework evaluation. - A combination of ACS and other coursework may also be acceptable. Regardless of whether coursework is obtained from an ACS, every applicant must demonstrate that his or her coursework covered all of the required content for the minimum number of hours per category. - Experience.  Applicants must complete experience that fully complies with all of the current Experience Standards. Applicants must carefully review the experience standards with their supervisor(s) before beginning their experience. Please note that these standards stipulate training requirements for supervisees and supervisors, which must be completed before experience begins. - Visit our Certificant Registry to locate BCBAs willing to supervise the applied experience of those pursuing certification and the ongoing practice of BCaBAs. Exam Applicants must take and pass the BCBA exam.  Authorization to take the exam is only provided to applications who have submitted a complete exam application to the BACB, including all documentation necessary to demonstrate that they have met all of the criteria above.
