Senior Software Engineer - Customer Engineering

Harmonic Security, Inc

Harmonic Security lets teams adopt AI tools safely by protecting sensitive data in real time with minimal effort. It gives enterprises full control and stops leaks so that their teams can innovate confidently. We are led by cybersecurity experts and backed by top investors including N47, Ten Eleven Ventures, and In-Q-Tel. We have achieved early traction and product-market fit with a world-class team, and we are now focused on building a category-defining company.

Role Description We're looking for a Backend Engineer to sit inside Customer Engineering rather than the product roadmap team. You'll be the technical backbone for how we support and delight customers day-to-day: - Triage, diagnose, and fix customer-reported bugs across our backend services. - Deliver smallish customer-driven requests and improvements, keeping a lightweight roadmap of your own. - Build tooling and automation that let customers and internal teams self-serve answers, cutting down repeat questions that would otherwise need an engineer. - Dig into microservices, event-driven pipelines, and integrations with identity providers and data security platforms to find and resolve root causes, not just symptoms. - Work directly with customers and internal stakeholders to understand what's actually blocking them, then decide whether the right fix is a patch, a tool, or a process change. - Instrument and monitor the systems customers depend on so recurring issues get surfaced and fixed before they pile up. - Look for moments to delight, not just resolve: a workflow that could be smoother, a report that could be automatic, a question that could be answered before it's asked. - Track how much of the customer experience is still manual, and systematically drive that down through automation and fixes. - Help define what "good" looks like for this function - process, tooling, and metrics - since you're building it from scratch. Qualifications - 5+ years of professional software engineering experience building backend services and distributed systems in the Java ecosystem (Java, Spring Boot, Maven). - Strong understanding of event-driven architectures, asynchronous processing patterns, messaging systems, and distributed system design. - Proven experience designing and maintaining RESTful APIs, web hooks, and service-to-service integrations. - Comfortable operating in AWS, GCP, or Azure environments and working with modern observability tooling, logging, and monitoring platforms. - A track record of delivering performant, reliable and scalable applications. - Excellent collaboration and communication skills in cross-functional teams, including direct, empathetic communication with customers. - Comfortable moving between hands-on debugging, small feature delivery, and building internal tooling in the same week. Requirements - Experience building products in cybersecurity, identity, governance, compliance, data protection, or enterprise SaaS environments. - Understanding of why architectural decisions matter. - Ability to balance scalability, reliability, maintainability, and speed of execution. - Critical thinking about security, observability, and operational excellence from day one. - Interest in blending software development, distributed systems, and data-intensive applications. - Familiarity with authentication and identity technologies such as OAuth, OpenID Connect (OIDC), SAML, SCIM, Entra ID (Azure AD), Okta, or other enterprise identity providers. - Thrives in fast-paced startup environments where ambiguity is the norm. - Enjoys shaping culture and engineering practices, not just writing code. - Gets satisfaction from unblocking a customer quickly, and then from automating away the need to do it again. - Prefers variety and a mix of problem sizes over long, single-threaded builds. - Leverages AI tools as an engineer to help build smarter, faster, and better. Benefits - Competitive pay and meaningful equity - a real stake in Harmonic's success. - Comprehensive benefits - 401K, pension plan, generous PTO, and flexible hybrid work. - A small, high-trust team that values transparency, creativity, and continuous learning. - Thoughtful leadership that cares deeply about your growth. - Annual global off-sites - past trips include Lisbon, Portugal and Nashville, TN. - Real ownership - you'll shape the product, the culture, and the direction of the company from day one.

What You'll Do - Build and own the GTM reporting infrastructure: dashboards, pipeline visibility, conversion rates, and forecast inputs. - Drive the forecasting cadence: build the model, flag anomalies, identify pipeline risks and growth opportunities. - Own lead-to-order end to end: quoting, deal desk, order forms, and surrounding processes. - Identify inefficiencies across sales, solutions architecture, post-sales, and marketing. - Own quota setting, territory design, and resource allocation modeling. - Operationalize sales playbooks and frameworks. - Prepare the CRO and CEO for board-level presentations. - Serve as a trusted advisor to the CRO. - Work cross-functionally to operationalize consumption and usage-based pricing. - Lead and grow a small team that will scale with the GTM organization. You Might Be a Fit if You - Get uncomfortable when things aren't being measured properly. - Have strong opinions about how RevOps should work, backed by data. - Aren't afraid to challenge assumptions when data tells a different story. - View past playbooks as starting points, not answers. - Actively build with AI tools. - Prefer to rebuild broken processes from scratch. - Can engage in complex conversations with a CRO and focus on CRM configuration. - Find ambiguity energizing and can create clarity. - Are genuinely curious about how AI is changing the RevOps function. What Success Looks Like - Within 30 days: Regular forecast cadence established, clear view of tech stack, and reporting dashboards created. - Within 90 days: Major inefficiencies identified and at least three fixed, with proactive surfacing of pipeline risks and growth opportunities. - Within 6 months: Own the GTM operations engine end to end, with AI-native processes reducing manual overhead. Why Join Us - This isn't just a job; it's a chance to help define a category. - Recognized momentum: named to Rising in Cyber 2026. - Rare market opportunity to join early in a category-defining company. - Competitive pay and meaningful equity. - Comprehensive benefits: 401K, generous PTO. - A small, high-trust team with transparency and continuous learning. - Thoughtful leadership focused on your growth. - Annual global off-sites. - Real ownership from day one. DevOps Engineer4 days ago

Role Description The Senior DevOps Engineer is responsible for designing, building and maintaining the highly scalable infrastructure that powers our applications. This role is a blend of automation, infrastructure design and CI/CD pipeline development. What You’ll Do - Your primary focus is the automation and standardisation of our cloud infrastructure and deployment processes. - Develop reusable modules to enforce consistency and best practices across all environments. - Design and implement highly available and fault-tolerant architectures on AWS utilising multiple AZs and regions. - Build, maintain, and optimise CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI/CD. - Manage and configure GitLab Runners (specifically on Docker or AWS EC2/ECS) for scalable and efficient job execution, ensuring fast feedback loops for developers. What Success Looks Like - You evangelise and implement DevOps best practices, including shift-left security, monitoring, alerting and logging. - The platform provides an outstanding experience with minimal friction for both the development and operations teams, allowing everyone to do their best work. - Highly available, well maintained platform backed by repeatable processes that allow us to meet and exceed the highest standards for security and resilience. Qualifications - Experience with infrastructure as code tooling (preferably Terraform/OpenTofu). - Experience with cloud services (preferably AWS). - Understanding of networking and web applications. - Knowledge of Docker and container orchestration platforms. - Knowledge of Linux/Unix based operating systems. - Experience of CI/CD tooling (GitLab, GitHub, etc.). - Experience of troubleshooting issues with infrastructure and web applications. - Proficient in one or more scripting languages (Bash, Python etc.). - Experience with monitoring and log management tooling (Prometheus, Grafana, ELK, CloudWatch etc.). - Experience working within a fast moving software development organisation. Why Join Us - This isn't just a job - it's a chance to help define a category. - We believe today's talent is tomorrow's success, and we're committed to creating an environment where you can do the best work of your life. - Recognized momentum: We made the Rising in Cyber 2026 list, a signal that the market is taking notice. - Rare market opportunity: Join early in a category-defining company at the convergence of AI and security, where your work directly shapes how enterprises tackle one of the biggest unsolved problems in tech. - Competitive pay and meaningful equity: A real stake in Harmonic's success, not a token gesture. - Comprehensive benefits: 401K, pension plan, generous PTO, and flexible hybrid work. - A small, high-trust team that values transparency, creativity, and continuous learning - no politics, no bureaucracy. - Thoughtful leadership that cares deeply about your growth, not just your output. - Annual global off-sites: past trips include Lisbon, Portugal and Nashville, TN. - Real ownership: you'll shape the platform, the culture, and the direction of the company from day one.
