We are seeking a video editor, podcasts to join our Editorial team to create videos of Guardian Australia podcasts for YouTube, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube shorts. This role will work in consultation with the Guardian's audio and video teams to transform podcast records into high-quality, full-length videos and short social clips. This role is being offered on a full-time 12 month contract, with early starts and/or late finishes. This role is open to candidates based in Sydney. In this role you will… - Edit Guardian Australia's Full Story podcast, Decoding America, Back to Back Barries and other podcasts as required for video platforms - Work with Guardian Australia's audio producers to ensure audio and video edits are in sync, while refining pace, applying basic colour grading and implementing feedback from executive producers - Use Adobe Premiere Pro to a high standard to edit accurately and quickly for audiences onsite, on YouTube and on our social media platforms - Source news footage and archive to edit into podcast videos - Pitch and create social cuts from full-length podcast episodes for Instagram, TikTok and YouTube Shorts - Work with the Guardian's audio and video teams to promote Guardian Australia podcasts on social channels - Suggest and write headlines, standfirsts and thumbnails for onsite and social videos - Be an active user of social media channels to ensure Guardian Australia stays up-to-date with best practice and trends where appropriate - Work with the legal and rights teams as required You'll bring…. You'll be collaborating with a dynamic team of editors, producers, designers and leading creatives to deliver best in class content. The successful candidate will lead Guardian Labs campaigns from concept to execution - driving ideation, crafting compelling copy, commissioning content, and ensuring quality across multimedia and video projects. You'll work on… Strategy - Working with the Creative Solutions Manager, Commercial Editor and the Head of Commercial Content to create content strategies to meet client audience and communication objectives. - Creating off-platform amplification plans for social media and content amplification platforms, and using creative flair/copywriting to reinvigorate existing social channels. - Identifying audience insights and patterns and communicating them to the wider Guardian Labs team to improve overall content strategy and commercial plays. - Playing a key role in supporting Guardian Labs in the delivery of projects and winning new business, including presenting alongside sales teams in client pitches and at post campaign stage. - Understanding past campaigns, pulling insights and building case studies to support current/future work. - Using data from campaign performance to find insights and learnings adaptable to new partnerships.
