Role Description The Head Coach is a disciplined and motivated individual who provides guidance to the student athletes and administrative assistance to the Esports Director with an emphasis on recruitment. Responsible for the day-to-day team operations, this position will establish a strong sense of team identity and values across all game titles. Responsibilities include: - Grow and develop a successful Esports program. - Provide player and team development, fostering a successful competitive League of Legends team. - Attend team practices and official matches. - Conduct recruitment activities in accordance with NACE and all Esports governing body rules and regulations. - Develop and execute recruiting strategies with the Esports Director to ensure program stability and growth. - Set and meet monthly recruitment goals for Varsity and Junior Varsity League of Legends. - Monitor the academic progress of student athletes to ensure students meet eligibility and graduation standards. - Establish an effective schedule for practices and games (league & tournament schedule coordination). - Maintain the Esports facility, equipment, and other assets. - Assist Esports Director with fundraising activities for the Esports program. - Assist Esports Director with summer camps for prospective esport student-athletes. - Keep current of rolling updates and patches as metagame evolves. - Promote attendance at Esports events by providing information for students, faculty, staff, and the public. - Perform other athletic administrative duties as assigned. - Maintain student confidentiality. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree preferred. - Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills required. - Successful recruiting and coaching experience at the high school or college level preferred. - Metagame knowledge of relevant Esports titles required. - Current player ranking in relevant Esports titles preferred. - Knowledge of relevant strategies, play patterns, and dynamics of competitive play preferred. - Ability to interact with students, parents, admission staff, and the public in a positive way. Requirements - Overall primary supervision of League of Legends teams, occasional assistance of other teams at Grand View University. - Will include supervision of student athletes. Working Conditions - In the event of working on-site, some work is performed in a normal office setting. - Sits, stands, bends, lifts, and moves intermittently during working hours. - During the course of the day, can interact with students, faculty, and staff by computer, phone, or in person. - Must be able to spend extended periods of time for practices and competitions and be able to travel as job demands. - Nights and weekends will be a part of this position due to competition schedule and traveling. Role Description The Department of Mathematics & Computer Science at Grand View University is seeking qualified applicants for a part-time faculty position in Mathematics. We are seeking individuals to teach the course: - Math 105-AEOL Contemporary Math Literacy – online course from August 24-December 12. Qualifications - Master’s degree in Mathematics, or a closely related field is required (PhD preferred). - Teaching experience preferred – along with experience teaching online.
