Role Description Goodwill Industries of Kentucky is looking for an energetic, self-motivated, dynamic professional Certified Work Incentive Coordinator to join our team! The Certified Work Incentive Coordinator will provide assistance to Social Security beneficiaries in making informed decisions, to analyze and clearly explain complex information related to specific issues and concerns people with disabilities have regarding employment. The CWIC’s work primarily includes providing Work Incentive benefits analysis, planning, and assistance, to individuals with disabilities to help them understand how employment income will increase their financial wellbeing and affect their federal, state, and local benefits. The CWIC works one-on-one (by phone, email and in person) with beneficiaries to promote employment by helping them understand how SSA and other benefit program rules impact earned wages. Qualifications - High School diploma required - Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling, Disability Studies or a closely related field, preferred - Previous experience in working with individuals who have a disability and/or mental illness is a plus - Current Community Work Incentive Coordinator certification from Virginia Commonwealth University, preferred - Outstanding oral and written communication, teamwork and interpersonal skills - Ability to work with a variety of diverse people - Reliable transportation to and from work - Valid driver’s license and insurance with an acceptable driving record Requirements - Provides direct service and benefits counseling to beneficiaries, families and representative payees - Enters data and case notes into data systems within set deadlines - Provides follow up assistance with beneficiaries, agencies, and other support team members as necessary - Explains the effects of employment and self-employment income on SSI, SSDI, Medicaid, Medicare and other public benefit programs - Assists beneficiaries in understanding how to request and utilize work incentives - Prepares detailed, written Benefits Summary and Analysis to outline how employment will impact benefits - Acts as the liaison between the Social Security Administration (SSA) and the beneficiary when necessary - Performs other duties as assigned Physical Demands - This job may have physical requirements that are considered sedentary work - Sedentary work involves sitting for long periods of time - Occasional bending, squatting, kneeling, stooping - Good finger dexterity and feeling - Frequent repetitive motions - Talking, hearing, and visual acuity - Occasional lifting up to 15 pounds - Travel across the state and to other locations beyond the assigned work location is rarely required Benefits - 403(b) Plan - Company 403(b) Matching Contributions - Employee Assistance Program (EAP) - Tuition Reimbursement - Medical, Prescription, Dental & Vision Insurance - Generous Vacation Time & 8 Paid Holidays - Short and Long-Term Disability Insurance - Life, Dependent Life and AD&D Insurance - Voluntary Term Life Insurance
