About the Role The Regional Director, Student Recruitment role represents an unparalleled opportunity to make a significant and lasting impact in a high growth business. The Regional Director will bring strategic vision, focus and innovation to enable future growth in a competitive market. This is a key role working on the creation, implementation and delivery of International Student Recruitment Strategy, with a particular and immediate focus managing and developing regional based team to lead on the establishment and cultivation of B2B agency partnerships, leading schools, governments and other channels for the recruitment of international students. The post holder is responsible for developing and executing activities to achieve international student recruitment targets, developing existing and future international target markets and ensuring a smooth and effective integration with the respective institution. The successful candidate will be based ideally in Azerbaijan or anywhere within the CIS region and must have experience working in and managing small, high performing teams in a fast-moving environment, and will be able to communicate with our stakeholders with tact and diplomacy. Key Responsibilities The Regional Director will: - Work on the strategy and vision regarding international student recruitment into integrated deliverable operational plans; monitoring and evaluating performance against agreed targets and timely reporting of progress of results and outcomes for International Student Recruitment and business development. - Creating and leading recruitment activity to generate business and identify new recruitment markets and channels, ensuring continual development of new business and sustainability of existing channels. - Recruitment, co-ordination and monitoring of a network of agents and other channels to support international recruitment activity. - Build, manage and develop a regional team to help deliverables. - Co-ordinate recruitment activities, including attendance at fairs and events through the development and execution of an integrated plan with associated targets and KPIs. - Critically assess and evaluate recruitment activity in respect of its value for money and investment returns, making changes and improvements as necessary. - Identify emerging risks to recruitment targets and formulate plans to mitigate risks by managing across the breadth of relevant international recruitment activity. - Undertake analysis of data relating to agreed Key Performance Indicators, ensuring that there is appropriate and accurate information available to all those who need it. - Play a role in confronting particular issues as they arise, (whether opportunities or risks) - Lead, motivate, develop and inspire the International Recruitment and Business Development team, structure their activity and performance to deliver results in line with operational and project budgets, providing clear objectives and managing performance against these. - Develop ways of attracting good people to work within the department and to develop and retain talent within it. Ensure that appropriate performance management and succession planning is in place so that the team remains agile and innovative. - Other duties, as required from time to time in line with the seniority and scope of this role. - Work with key stakeholders across the region to improve the evidence base for growth including developing the knowledge base on regulatory, legislative and operational landscapes. This includes identifying opportunities for policy change and new partnerships. - Be a credible voice of authority on global private education, and develop knowledge in these areas, including being a source of advice and support to BDMs on their planning and activities. - Develop, manage and maintain a network of overseas institutions and agencies to establish effective recruitment pipeline development and referral channels. Experience & Skills - Takes a consultative sales approach, always aiming for ‘win-win’ outcomes that best benefit the company, students’ interests and other stakeholders - A general understanding of market trends in education- private and public sectors- and international student recruitment - A positive and determined approach to researching and analyzing new business opportunities - Combination of experience working directly for a university, language school and school/college network with a focus exclusively on student recruitment. - Excellent organizational and time management skills including ability to cope with competing demands and to prioritize tasks - Developing and creating business plans to enable market entry - Strong client management skills - Analytical and problem-solving abilities - Ability to use own initiative and pay close attention to detail - Achieving or surmounting revenue targets - Confident in dealing with various levels of seniority - Strong communication skills in all forms, including written, oral, email, telephone, and presentations - Capable of working independently, and having responsibility as an individual - Experience building student recruitment pipeline. - Strong B2B and B2C experience with agents. - Leading teams based across the region - Salesforce implementation and leadership The post holder will be asked to undertake different or additional duties in line with business requirements at the request of their line manager. Position The Business Development Manager for International Student Recruitment will oversee all student recruitment activities, business development activities, account management, and marketing events for B2B channels across the country or region you will manage. You will collaborate with Company Directors to develop B2B channels and implement marketing and sales strategies to promote international student recruitment for GUS. You will be representing one of our universities or colleges located in either Europe, North America, or Asia. Requirements Essential Criteria • You will have experience in international student recruitment for higher education. • You have an established and relevant agency network and solid relationships with key stakeholders within these agencies. • A solid understanding of industry trends is essential to inform the group’s strategic planning and forecasting. • You will have developed and trained education agents on how to promote the brand you represent. • You will have experience sourcing agents from fairs, business trips, enquiries, referrals, and general searches in line with business development responsibilities. • You will have experience generating new revenue from existing streams and accounts, as well as identifying new opportunities. • You will have a proven track record of assisting in identifying, supporting, and developing potential business partners and growing existing client relationships. • You will have experience performing client research, including (but not limited to) meeting and engaging with key players in the industry. • You will be a highly motivated individual who strives for success in all areas. • You are confident in delivering workshops and presentations, hosting conferences, and being in front of the camera. Desirable Criteria • Salesforce or database management experience. • We will consider applicants who have represented an institution directly (located anywhere within your region) or who have significant agency experience where they have managed a sub-network of agents. Location The position is home-based with travel. Ideally, you will be located within your country and able to travel with ease, as your main marketing activities will be held in this area (where agents are based). The Academic Registry team (Exams and Assessments) plays a vital role in delivering smooth assessment experiences and ensuring compliance with the university's academic regulations. Their responsibilities include overseeing a range of marking processes, such as standard marking, moderation, double-blind marking, and the external examination of student summative submissions. The team also manages and updates module briefs, ensuring approval from external examiners where required. They are responsible for identifying and reporting cases of academic misconduct, crosschecking and verifying data for Module Panels and Examination Boards, and hosting Internal Boards attended by FutureLearn Delivery teams. In addition, they manage assessment workflows in Wiseflow—the university’s assessment platform—by updating student records for extensions and other changes. The team collaborates closely with various departments across the university, particularly with Student Support and Academic teams, and provides training and documentation to support academics in using marking platforms and other assessment tools. What does success look like: - Facilitate and monitor marking, moderation, and external examination processes. - Manage the creation, updates, and approvals of module briefs. - Identify and report on cases of academic misconduct. - Administer data entries and workflows within the Wiseflow system. - Support mark entry and data management in the SITs client system. - Oversee a full portfolio of programs within the Brunel partnership, ensuring all processes comply with timelines and regulations. - As you grow in the role, you will take on additional responsibilities across dynamic programs, particularly as SITs becomes a more integral part of the assessment process.
