Role Description The GIS Developer is responsible for the design, development, configuration, unit testing, and deployment of Enterprise GIS applications. The candidate must be proficient in web and/or desktop GIS application development. The GIS Developer develops, modifies, and tests code that supports spatial intelligence, desktop GIS, and web GIS solutions. This position will also provide escalated support for Enterprise GIS products and solutions throughout the organization. The GIS Developer will work closely with business stakeholders/clients, other Enterprise GIS staff members, and/or outside vendor(s) to ensure the Enterprise GIS solution meets business requirements. Role Description Employees in this role will receive supervision and training from experienced GIS Staff. Under moderate supervision at an intermediate performance level, GIS Technicians conduct geographic information system (GIS) program activities, utilizing GIS hardware and software to produce maps, spatial databases, and thematic data (wetlands, address verification, road centerlines, historic sites, etc.). Employees in this position will: - Create, adjust, correct, manage, convert, and distribute base maps and thematic data. - Write programs and develop user interfaces, menus, and macro-level commands to meet user needs. - Perform simple spatial analyses and produce reports accordingly.
