Title: Treatment Liaison - REMOTE Location: Pittsburgh, PA Job Description: Full-time Gateway Rehab Center (GRC) is seeking a dynamic and relationship-focused Full-time Treatment Liaison to serve as a key ambassador for the organization. This position is responsible for cultivating and maintaining strong referral relationships, expanding community partnerships, and delivering exceptional customer service to referral sources, patients, and other stakeholders. The Treatment Liaison drives business development efforts, increases referral volume, identifies growth opportunities to support a strong payer mix, and helps ensure a seamless experience throughout the referral and admissions process. To be considered for the position, you must live within the Pittsburgh, PA area or surrounding counties and be able to travel throughout the region as needed. Responsibilities - Develop and execute strategic outreach plans to increase referrals and support organizational growth. - Conduct regular in-person and virtual visits with referral partners to educate them on programs, services, and admissions processes. - Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and referral patterns to identify opportunities for growth. - Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned referral sources. - Foster long-term relationships through consistent communication, responsiveness, and excellent service. - Develop referral source engagement strategies that improve satisfaction, loyalty, and retention. - Resolve concerns promptly while maintaining professionalism and confidentiality. - Maintain accurate records of outreach activities, referral contacts, and relationship development efforts within the organization's CRM or referral tracking system. - Collaborate closely with Admissions and Clinical teams to facilitate timely communication and smooth patient transitions. - Provide education regarding levels of care, insurance coverage, treatment options, and available resources. - Work with patients to coordinate return to work and related paperwork prior to discharge. - Facilitate completion and submission of STD/FMLA paperwork. - Complete all documentation in patients’ charts regarding case management activities; provide comprehensive written and verbal follow up with referral sources during treatment and at discharge. - Broaden and develop Gateway Rehab’s geographic base across PA with the support of the telehealth-only license. - Maintain a working knowledge of licensing and regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with regulations and standards. - Partner with Marketing to support campaigns, community events, educational presentations, and promotional initiatives. - Support patient transfer rates and continuity of care. - Partner with Development to support alumni programming, recruitment and retention. - Serve on internal committees as needed. - Attend Gateway mandatory trainings and departmental meetings. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities - Demonstrated ability to build professional relationships and develop new business opportunities. - Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. - Strong organizational and time management abilities. - Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively across departments. - Knowledge base of ASAM and other placement criteria preferred. - Knowledge base of DDAP, CARF, and other auditing bodies preferred. Requirements - Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Healthcare Administration, Communications, Social Work, or a related field required. - Minimum of 2-5 years of experience in business development, healthcare outreach, referral development, admissions, marketing, or relationship management. - Experience within behavioral health, substance use treatment, healthcare, or human services preferred. Additional Requirements - Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly throughout the assigned service area. - Pass PA Criminal Background Check - Obtain PA Child Abuse and FBI Fingerprinting Clearances - Pass Drug Screen - 2-Step TB Test Work Conditions - Regional travel in the assigned service area. - Moderate mental demands include creativity and flexibility. - Flexibility regarding work schedule. • Deliver individual and group therapy through a secure telehealth platform, providing vital support to clients with substance use and co-occurring disorders. • Utilizes and promotes trauma-informed treatment through the provision of evidence-based practices. • Participates in developing the patient’s treatment plan and outcomes in cooperation with the treatment team. • Provides direct therapeutic services consisting of individual, group, and/or family therapy, dependent on the patient's needs. • Makes ongoing assessments regarding the patient’s progress in treatment and revises the treatment plan according to patient needs. • Completes clinical documentation accurately and in a timely manner. • Establishes and maintains contact and relationships with referral sources related to patient caseload. • Provide crisis intervention, education, and long-term recovery strategies through virtual care. • Has insight into healthcare professional monitoring and boards.

• Processes, edits, audits and posts service entries into the EHR. • Generates clean claims, invoices and patient bills for services provided to all patients based on third party payer criteria. • Monitors and collects outstanding accounts receivable and performs investigation and follow-up on open balances. • Reviews Explanation of Benefits/Remittance Advices for correct payment, copays, deductibles and denials. • Tracks, analyzes, and reports monthly to director regarding composition of outstanding accounts receivable, determining collectability and internal and external issues concerning receipt of payment. • Participates in the monthly closings and provides data and analysis for all payers. • Communicates with the utilization review department regarding authorizations issues and inquires. • Completes necessary processes for adjustments, write-offs, charity care and refunds. • Contacts Patient Benefit Coordinators, outpatient administrative support staff, therapists, and insurance companies for problem resolution with funding sources or patient services. • Maintains interdepartmental reports for patient accounts and collections. • Communicate with third party Collection Management Company and patients concerning self-pay balances or billing issues. • Assists in the FY audits. • Communicates with the Medical Records department for applicable data required for patient appeals and denials. • Works on special projects as needed. • Attends mandatory Gateway training and in-services.

• Process and respond to requests for information regarding the State Eligibility System • Oversee the patient Self Pay process • Generate, send and retrieve electronic reports to State Eligibility System • Enter data into the patient medical record and updates applicable changes from reports • Investigate discrepancies regarding patient payer information • Inform internal staff of potential patient losses of insurance coverage • Update and monitor spreadsheets shared with staff • Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and departments • Track monthly payments from patients and generate self-pay reports • Maintain State Eligibility and Self-Pay procedures • Work on special projects as needed
