Role Description Our content team produces significant output for a small team, but requires additional guidance and support from an experienced video game editor to enable the company to grow to a larger team size. We have seen tremendous growth in the last year and are now looking for someone to help us grow to the next level. As such we are seeking a senior editor to take a leading role at the company to help us continue our growth journey. The typical candidate we are looking for has most likely worked for a large gaming brand for some time and is now ready to take on more responsibility to enhance and grow their professional development. They would be strongly motivated to enable other writers and editors to do their best work and believe in delivering on the high quality standards our readers expect and we believe in internally at the company. They would also be obsessed with growing a large audience while making sure to have one eye on the quality standards at all times. They gain enjoyment from planning content and growth strategies and then helping them come to fruition. Responsibilities - Working closely with EIC to help plan the content strategy/pipeline for the company and oversee the execution of said strategy. - Develop and help implement new ideas for growth and audience engagement alongside other senior team members. - Assigning content team members to projects based on an understanding of their skills & experience, on a project-to-project basis. - Working alongside the existing content team members to produce original written content. - Answering any SEO or content structure related questions team members may have. - Helping existing team members to use time efficient working practices & methodologies. - Assisting wherever necessary on guides, maps, databases and reviews etc. to ensure internal deadlines and quality standards are achieved. - Liaising with PR companies wherever necessary to build and maintain good relationships. Requirements - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. - Significant gaming experience ideally across all platforms and genres. - Minimum of 3 years experience in similar positions at other websites. - Deep understanding of SEO best practices with proven past results. - Proficiency with SEO-related tools (Google Analytics, Google Trends etc). - Experience developing and writing guides and evergreen content. - Strong relationships/contacts at PR companies / game publishers.
