About the role We are seeking an Application Services Software Engineer to build software and support automation of mission-critical workflows to enhance scalability and system efficiency of Forterra’s corporate systems. This role involves designing, deploying, and maintaining software. workflows, automations of business process, scalability of systems and tooling in support of Business and Engineering teams. As a Software Engineer on the Application Services team, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams and require technical expertise in software APIs, Power Automate, scripting and ideally Microsoft 365 GCC High, with a strong knowledge of IT systems and operations. What you'll do - Design, build, and maintain internal applications, APIs, automations, and integrations for Forterra’s business systems. - Develop solutions using C#, .NET, SQL, PowerShell, and related Microsoft technologies. - Build and support integrations between systems such as ERP, PLM, HR, Finance, Engineering, and Operations platforms. - Automate manual or repetitive workflows using code, scripts, Power Automate, and system APIs. - Partner with Engineering, HR, Finance, Operations, IT, and Security to understand requirements and deliver scalable solutions. - Create tooling that improves access management, reporting, data quality, and operational efficiency. - Support secure development and system administration practices in a regulated environment. - Troubleshoot issues across applications, integrations, data flows, permissions, and operating systems. - Document solutions, support handoff, and help establish maintainable engineering practices for Application Services. - Stay up to date with the latest security technologies, trends, and best practices and make recommendations for improving the organization's security posture Minimum Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field or equivalent experience. - Minimum 2 - 3 years of software engineering, systems integration, DevOps, business systems, and/or internal tools experience. - Strong experience with C#, .NET, APIs, scripting, and SQL or relational databases. - Experience building or supporting internal applications, automation, integrations, or business systems. - Working knowledge of Microsoft 365, Azure, Power Platform, or enterprise identity/access systems. - Ability to troubleshoot across Windows, Linux, and macOS environments. - Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with non-technical business stakeholders. - Demonstrated ability to take ambiguous business problems and deliver practical, maintainable technical solutions. - Experience working in Agile, DevOps, startup, defense, government, or regulated environments. Preferred Qualifications - Generative AI experience using Anthropic or OpenAI tooling - M365 GCC High experience. - Azure Government experience. - Blazor experience. - Finance, HR, Operations, or Engineering business process knowledge. - Power Automate / Power Apps experience. - PowerShell experience. - Demonstrated track record of high ownership, strong collaboration, innovative problem-solving, and high-quality execution across cross-functional projects. US Salary Range $105,000 — $135,000 Location: Remote The salary range for this role is an estimate and is based on a wide variety of compensation factors. The salary offered to candidates will vary based on a variety of factors including (but not limited to) relevant work experience, education, specialized training, critical expertise, training, and more. Role Description The Forterra Data Team is seeking an experienced Staff Data Engineer to support the implementation and development of data pipelines, the data warehouse, and other key components of the data platform. In this role, you will be instrumental in building the data foundation that enables insights for developing a best-in-class ecosystem of autonomy products. - Build and orchestrate pipelines for ingestion and transformation of data collected from Forterra's vehicles and internal systems. - Design, build, and maintain our enterprise data warehouse on Snowflake, ensuring optimal performance, cost-efficiency, and scalability. - Gather requirements from both technical and non-technical stakeholders to deliver end-to-end data products. - Support user and role provisioning, implement RBAC policies, support audits and conduct user access reviews. - Establish data modeling standards and data governance frameworks, creating dimension and fact tables that serve analytics, machine learning, and reporting use cases. - Implement data quality monitoring, anomaly detection, tests, and alerting. - Document definitions, metrics, and KPIs and assist in the development of a data dictionary. Qualifications - 6+ years of hands-on experience in data engineering, data warehousing, or analytics engineering roles. - Expert SQL knowledge and Python proficiency. - Experience with modern data warehouses (Snowflake, Redshift, BigQuery, etc.), data transformation, and orchestration tools (dbt, Airflow, Dagster, Prefect). - Experience with cloud infrastructure. - Understanding of software engineering best practices including version control, CI/CD pipelines, code review processes, and infrastructure-as-code. - Understanding of MLOps and experience with implementation of AI/ML technologies. • Design, integrate, and test RF front end design & subsystems supporting EMSO and EW sensing, including antennas, RF front-end components, and software-defined radios (SDRs). • Develop RF architectures that enable wideband spectrum awareness, direction finding, and spectrum agility across VHF, UHF, and lower SHF bands. • Work with external vendors and partners to specify, evaluate, and validate custom RF components or subsystems when required to ensure Forterra’s systems can support a wide array for tasks. • Rapidly prototype RF systems using commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) or government off-the-shelf (GOTS) components, balancing speed, performance, and system maturity. • Perform RF field testing, system demonstrations, experimentation, and validation. • Collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineers to integrate RF hardware into autonomous vehicle platforms, considering antenna placement, grounding, shielding, and enclosure considerations. • Diagnose and resolve RF performance issues including interference, data rate/bandwidth limitations, and RF chain degradation in real-world environments.
