About Our Opportunity The Solutions Architect provides enterprise application architecture leadership, shaping the long term direction of application design, integration, and technology standards to support Farm Credit Mid America's business strategy. It ensures that application solutions are scalable, secure, and sustainable while mentoring development teams and advising leaders on architectural decisions and emerging technologies. This role serves as a recognized authority in a specialized discipline, shaping standards, practices, and long-term direction across the Association. Team members at this level navigate highly complex, ambiguous, or enterprise critical work with exceptional judgment. Their impact extends systemwide through thought leadership, innovation, and the stewardship of long-term organizational capability. How You Will Spend Your Time - Defines and evolves enterprise application architecture standards, patterns, and guidelines to ensure scalable, secure, and maintainable solutions aligned to business strategy and customer experience. - Provides architectural leadership and technical direction to agile application development teams, ensuring adherence to design, coding, security, and integration standards. - Partners with product team and business and technology leaders to translate complex business requirements into sustainable application and system architecture, clearly articulating tradeoffs and long term impacts. - Evaluates, selects, and guides the implementation of third party platforms and application integration approaches to ensure architectural alignment and value realization. - Reviews system designs and application code to validate architectural integrity, performance, security, and alignment to enterprise standards, proactively identifying improvement opportunities. - Creates and maintains clear, usable architecture documentation that supports consistent development practices, knowledge sharing, and long term system maintainability. - Leads enterprise‑critical analysis, recommendations, and decision support in highly complex areas. - Shapes standards, frameworks, or practices that elevate quality, consistency, and effectiveness. - Drives innovations that strengthen system‑wide performance and long‑term readiness. - Serves as a trusted advisor to senior leaders, providing deep expertise and strategic perspective. - Mentors and develops others, building expertise and strengthening organizational capability. - Represents the discipline internally and externally, reinforcing credibility and leadership. Education & Experience - High School Diploma/GED with 12 years relevant experience required. - Bachelor's degree in Technical Management, Engineering, Computer Science or related disciplines with 8 years relevant experience preferred. - Experience working within the Microsoft development stack preferred. - Proven ability to lead architectural design discussions and solution planning sessions preferred. - Prior formal leadership experience referred. About Our Opportunity The Portfolio Manager plays a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the financial viability of a loan portfolio by collaborating with local retail, credit, and leadership teams. The primary objective is to restore or sustain loans in a viable financial position through restructuring, borrower counseling, creative credit packages, and resolution of distressed accounts. The role focuses on enhancing customer success, reducing non-earning assets, and preventing loans from entering special classification. This role applies solid functional knowledge and sound judgment to deliver dependable, high-quality work with minimal direction. Team members at this level manage moderately complex responsibilities, balance priorities effectively, and contribute meaningful insights that support team and functional performance. How You Will Spend Your Time - Partners with leaders and cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and monitor sales, credit, and risk strategies aligned with the Association’s goals and credit quality standards. - Serves as a subject matter expert and consultant for complex, distressed, and priority accounts, providing guidance on credit packages, loan structures, classifications, servicing strategies, and use of risk mitigation tools (including FSA programs). - Analyzes financial performance of priority and high-risk accounts, including balance sheets, cash flows, and income statements, to identify risks, opportunities, and recommended actions. - Proactively manages high-risk accounts by maintaining priority account lists, conducting regular reviews, and making recommendations to mitigate credit and operational risks in alignment with the Three Lines of Defense policy. - Communicates portfolio developments, trends, and risk strategies through consistent updates to Senior Vice Presidents and Regional Vice Presidents (RVPs). - Coaches, trains, and supports sales and retail teams to strengthen competencies in loan structuring, risk management, and customer conversations; serves as a resource to support customer and team needs during complex situations or staffing gaps. - Manages assigned work with minimal direction delivering a high degree of accuracy, quality and timely completion. - Applies functional knowledge and judgment to evaluate information and make informed decisions. Anticipates needs, manages competing priorities, and proactively communicates status or risks. - Supports process improvements by identifying gaps and recommending practical solutions. - Collaborates effectively across teams to advance shared goals and business outcomes. - Serves as a resource to less experienced team members through informal guidance.
