Role Description The Director of Engineering & AI-Enabled Delivery will lead a multidisciplinary, remote organization of ~150 professionals across software engineering, business analysis, design, content, and internal platforms. This leader will stabilize delivery, modernize engineering practices on cloud platforms, and build an AI-ready organization where teams use advanced tools responsibly and effectively to ship scalable products and services. Key Responsibilities - Organization and leadership: - Own the India-based engineering and delivery organization across SaaS products, custom development, and internal tools. - Design and implement a clear team structure (managers, tech leads, product/BA leads) with defined charters and accountability. - Build and develop high-performing managers and technical leaders; establish succession plans for key roles. - Engineering and AI-enabled delivery: - Define and enforce a standardized SDLC and delivery model for all teams, including cross-functional ceremonies and quality gates. - Establish cloud-native standards, reference architectures, and CI/CD pipelines for SaaS, web products, and internal tools. - Integrate AI tools into the development lifecycle (coding copilots, test generation, documentation assistants) with clear guardrails and human accountability. - Quality, reliability, and operations: - Set engineering standards for code quality, test automation, observability, and incident management. - Oversee architecture and design reviews for major initiatives; challenge and coach teams on scalability, security, and maintainability. - Own reliability metrics and continuous-improvement programs to reduce defects and incidents. - Talent development and culture: - Create and maintain a comprehensive skill matrix covering technical, AI, cloud, and cross-functional skills across all roles. - Define career paths and promotion criteria for engineers, managers, and cross-functional roles; make progression transparent and merit-based. - Build a culture of technical excellence, accountability, and continuous learning, including mentoring programs and internal knowledge sharing. - Stakeholder and strategic alignment: - Translate business goals into engineering roadmaps and capacity plans for SaaS products, client projects, and internal platforms. - Partner with US-based leadership, product, and business stakeholders to prioritize initiatives and communicate outcomes clearly. - Act as a visible champion for AI-enabled practices, helping non-technical leaders understand capabilities, risks, and ROI. Qualifications - 14-20 years in software engineering or platform engineering, including at least 5-7 years leading multi-team organizations. - Proven track record running engineering for SaaS or product organizations plus custom implementation or services work. - Strong hands-on background in modern architectures and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP), including CI/CD and observability. - Demonstrated experience integrating AI tools into software delivery and coaching teams on responsible, effective usage. - Experience working with cross-functional teams (design, content, BAs) and aligning them around product outcomes. - Confident communicator with global stakeholders; comfortable challenging existing practices and leading change.

Role Description - Strategic Consulting & Insights: Analyze and interpret customer and employee experience data within the platform to identify trends, pain points, and growth opportunities. Present findings through compelling storytelling that drives executive action. - Maximizing Client ROI: Act as a trusted advisor to ensure the client isn't just "using the tool," but extracting real business value—optimizing processes and improving key performance indicators (KPIs) through the platform. - Value-Based Solution Design: Translate complex business objectives into sustainable technical architectures, ensuring every system configuration is directly linked to a desired business outcome. - Technical & Functional Health Management: Proactively oversee account performance, ensuring the technical solution evolves in lockstep with the client's strategic needs. - Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Product and Sales teams to align Client's capabilities with the long-term visions of the world's most influential brands. Role Description - Database Operations and Reliability: - Design, implement, and manage robust High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions (e.g., Replication, Always On Failover Clusters, Log Shipping) to ensure minimal downtime and data loss. - Have experience for and responsible for migrations of database servers including Mysql 5+ to newer, MariaDB 10+ to newer, MSSQL SQL Server 2016+ to newer versions while maintaining continuity for stored procedures, ETLS, applications, and role-based access for both Microsoft and non-Microsoft identities. - Participate and assist with implementation of policies for role-based access as well as transition plans for changes in access methodologies. - Proactively monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and execute expert-level query, index, and server-level tuning to optimize application responsiveness and resource utilization. - Implement and maintain comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems to proactively detect and resolve performance degradation, capacity issues, and system failures. - Plan, test, and execute regular database patching, version upgrades, and maintenance tasks (backups, integrity checks) during scheduled maintenance windows, including documentation, standardization, and audits. - Technical Expertise and Environment: - Serve as a subject matter expert for SQL Server and MySQL database environments, with familiarity managing MongoDB clusters. - Manage, deploy, and administer databases on cloud platforms, specifically utilizing services within AWS (e.g., RDS, EC2-hosted instances) and Azure (e.g., Azure SQL Database, VMs). - Implement and enforce security best practices, including user access management, encryption, auditing, and compliance with industry standards. - Manage database storage needs, plan for capacity scaling, and optimize resource allocation in the cloud to control costs. - Collaboration and Automation: - Partner closely with Software Engineering, DevOps, Infrastructure, and Security teams to provide database design input, troubleshoot application-related database issues, and integrate security policies. - Develop and maintain scripts (PowerShell, Python, or Shell) to automate routine operational tasks, reporting, and deployment processes. - Work with Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Terraform, Ansible) to deploy and configure database infrastructure in an automated, repeatable manner. Qualifications - 5+ years of hands-on experience as an Operational or Production DBA. - Deep knowledge of SQL Server and MySQL architecture, internals, and advanced features (HA/DR, replication, security). Being strong in both is required. - Proven experience administering databases hosted on either AWS or Azure (experience with both is highly preferred). - Demonstrated commitment to participating in a 24/7 on-call rotation and responding to critical incidents outside of regular business hours. - Expert proficiency in T-SQL and/or PL/SQL and strong scripting capabilities (PowerShell, Python, or Bash). - Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills to clearly articulate technical issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Requirements - Experience managing databases via Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Ansible. - Familiarity with NoSQL databases, specifically operational experience with MongoDB. - Relevant industry certifications (e.g., AWS Certified Database - Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Database Administrator Associate). - Experience in optimizing database deployments for microservices architectures.
