We have an opportunity within the Design and Construction team for a Disabled Bay Support Officer, who will play a key role in delivering a fair and accessible parking service for residents across the borough. You will support the assessment and delivery of personalised disabled parking bays, working closely with engineers and residents to ensure applications are processed in line with council policy and relevant legislation. This will include undertaking site visits, reviewing parking conditions, assessing safety and accessibility, and making evidence-based recommendations to inform decision-making. A key part of the role will involve communicating with residents, carers and stakeholders, providing clear updates throughout the application process, and responding to enquiries with sensitivity and professionalism. You will also support the administration of traffic orders, maintain accurate records, and contribute to performance monitoring and reporting. You will need strong organisational and data management skills, with the ability to manage a varied workload and prioritise effectively. Experience of working with data systems and Microsoft Office packages is essential, and you should be confident working both independently on site and collaboratively as part of a team. The role requires regular travel across the borough to undertake site visits, so you will need to be comfortable working in a field-based environment.
