Role Description Element U.S. Space & Defense (EUSSD) is seeking a Director of Strategic Initiatives to manage execution of key projects. This role reports to senior leadership and serves as a key integrator across business units and functions. The Director of Strategic Initiatives is responsible for leading and delivering high-impact strategic growth programs across the enterprise. This role operates at the intersection of strategy, operations, finance, and functional leadership to translate corporate priorities into executable initiatives within existing operations. - Lead cross-functional teams to implement strategic growth initiatives. - Translate enterprise strategy and leadership priorities into executable programs. - Serve as the central point of accountability for assigned strategic initiatives. - Partner with Finance to develop business cases and ROI analyses. - Track financial performance against approved budgets and forecasts. - Define and track key performance indicators and benefits-realization metrics. - Manage complex, multi-phase projects end-to-end. - Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and budgets. - Establish and enforce disciplined project governance and change control. - Partner closely with functional leaders to align resources and priorities. - Manage external subcontractors and consultants in support of strategic initiatives. - Provide concise updates to senior leadership on progress and outcomes. Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business, Operations, or a related field. - 8+ years of experience leading complex, cross-functional projects. - Demonstrated success delivering large, multi-stakeholder initiatives. - Proven experience managing subcontractors or external partners. - Advanced proficiency with project management tools and Microsoft Office. - Extensive background check and US Citizenship required. - Remote, approximately 30% travel. Requirements - MBA or advanced degree preferred. - Experience leading strategic initiatives in operations-heavy or regulated environments. - Formal project management training or certification (PMP, PgMP, etc.). - Experience supporting growth initiatives or large capital programs. - Familiarity with government contracting concepts. • Capture Management: Identify, cultivate, and close testing opportunities • Develop and manage an opportunity pipeline and key account roadmap • Formulate capture plans including technical, management, past performance, pricing strategies, and win themes for leads and opportunities • Move leads and opportunities through the sales cycle in CRM, including forecasting, tracking revenue, and regularly reporting on progress • Identify, plan and execute new Naval Program testing initiatives, supporting new market segments • Develop and implement strategic business development plans to achieve business viability, revenue growth, market penetration, and other objectives • Provide technical acumen concerning Naval engineering principles, integration of complex systems, and testing requirements • Represent EUSSD at Naval conferences, industry events, and technical groups • Build and maintain strong customer relationships with key decision-makers and influencers
