Role Description Echo Power is seeking an experienced Engineering Designer to lead design efforts on complex engineering projects supporting critical infrastructure, healthcare, industrial, and utility environments. In this role, you will serve as a senior technical resource within the design team, collaborating closely with Engineers, Project Managers, and cross-functional disciplines to deliver high-quality, code-compliant project documentation and technical solutions. This is a primarily remote role with occasional travel as needed to support project and client requirements (less than 10%). - Lead design development for complex electrical systems related to Substation Protection and Control projects - Prepare and review detailed engineering drawings, layouts, schematics, and construction documents - Ensure compliance with applicable codes, standards, client requirements, and industry best practices - Coordinate with Engineers, Designers, Project Managers, and external stakeholders to resolve design challenges and maintain project alignment - Support project planning, scheduling, and deliverable coordination across multiple active projects - Participate in design reviews, constructability reviews, and technical meetings - Assist with field verification, site visits, and as-built documentation as required - Support client interactions and contribute to successful project delivery - Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior Designers and Drafters - Promote continuous improvement of design standards, workflows, and documentation practices Qualifications - Proficiency in design software such as AutoCAD Electrical, Revit, MicroStation, Bluebeam, SBS Substation Design Suite, or other relevant CAD platforms - Advanced technical knowledge in engineering design and construction documentation related to Substation Protection and Control projects - Strong understanding of applicable industry codes and standards - Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities with the capacity to manage complex project scopes - Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail - Effective communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams - Ability to work independently while supporting team development and mentorship - Strong work ethic, accountability, and commitment to project excellence - Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, SharePoint, and project collaboration tools Requirements - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering Technology, Drafting/Design, or related field preferred - 6–10 years of progressive engineering design experience - Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience - Experience supporting substation utility projects required Benefits - Salary (based on education and experience): - Mid-level/Designer II: $80,000 – $95,000 - Senior Designer: $95,000 – $120,000 - Annual bonus potential - Work from home (no relocation required) - Flexible working hours - Health, dental, vision, & supplemental insurance - Company-paid disability and life insurance - Four weeks’ vacation + 7 company paid holidays - 401(k) plan with company match - Family-oriented culture - Career growth opportunities
Role Description Echo Power is seeking a self-motivated Electrical Relay Testing Technician with experience in relay testing, commissioning, and maintenance. In this role, you will support substation and power generation projects, contributing across the full project lifecycle—from design support through field commissioning and in-service operations. This position includes a mix of technical work and field engagement to ensure safe and reliable system performance. Key Responsibilities - Perform testing, commissioning, and maintenance of protective relays and associated equipment - Develop and implement protective relay settings and commissioning documentation - Conduct functional testing, troubleshooting, and repair of relay systems - Support retrofit design and implementation of relay systems in substations and power plants - Assist in the development and execution of commissioning work plans - Maintain accurate documentation of testing and maintenance activities - Ensure compliance with safety standards and company policies Qualifications - Strong knowledge of power generation and transmission equipment, including relays, controls, transformers, and protection systems - Experience with instrumentation, process control systems, and transmitters (pressure, flow, temperature) - Familiarity with HART-based transmitters and PLC fundamentals (preferred) - Experience with 480V motor controls and substation equipment installation/commissioning - Ability to produce as-built documentation using AutoCAD - Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills - Proficiency with Microsoft Office and working knowledge of AutoCAD - Experience with relay testing platforms and associated software - Strong communication skills and ability to work with customers and field teams - Self-motivated with a strong work ethic and ability to work in both field and office environments Requirements - High school diploma required - 5+ years of relevant experience in electrical testing, installation, and commissioning - NICET certification preferred Benefits - Salary: $75,000 – $112,000 annually (based on education and experience) - Annual bonus potential - Flexible working hours - Health, dental, and vision insurance - Company-paid disability and life insurance - Four weeks of vacation plus 7 company-paid holidays - 401(k) plan with company match - Auto allowance - Family-oriented culture - Career growth opportunities
