This position is responsible for driving the end-to-end user experience strategy and execution for a large-scale DoD AI/ML platform. This role blends product management, UX strategy, and visual design leadership, ensuring platform capabilities are translated into intuitive, mission-aligned user experiences. Essential Job Duties and Functions: - The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment requiring complex problem solving and cross-functional collaboration. This individual will work closely with platform architects, data science and data engineering leads, product manager(s), engineering teams, and DoD customers to translate technical capabilities into validated UX concepts, workflows, and mockups. - Acts as a key member of the delivery team, ensuring UX/UI designs are aligned with project objectives, customer needs and operational constraints. Works with QA and DevOps to ensure delivered capabilities meet usability, performance, and quality standards. - Leads customer engagement and validation efforts, including Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions, usability testing, and iterative design reviews. Ensures designs are continuously vetted with stakeholders and evolve based on user feedback. - Collaborates with the Client on the design of product—including data, AI’ML models, security compliance, customer organizational requirements and system architecture—to ensure user workflows align with technical capabilities and cross-functional requirements. Translates these architectures into user-centric design artifacts, mockups, and interaction models. - Responsible for the creation of UI/UX design specifications, workflows, and early stage mockups to guide development teams. Establishes and maintains UX/UI standards, design systems, and best practices, ensuring consistency, accessibility, and scalability. - May develop high-level system interaction diagrams and user journey flows to support program design, development, testing, and documentation. Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Human-Centered Design, Product Design, Interaction Design, or related field (or equivalent experience) - Minimum 5 years of experience performing similar functions on DoD or commercial programs/projects - Experience working on complex platforms or enterprise systems, preferably AI/ML or data-intensive environments - Demonstrated ability to translate technical architectures into user-centric workflows and designs - Strong experience facilitating customer workshops, Joint Application Development (JAD) sessions, and usability testing - Proven ability to collaborate with product managers, architects, engineers, and QA teams - Experience creating wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes (e.g., Figma or similar tools) into production UI - Ability to analyze user needs and data to define and document effective solutions - Strong communication skills with the ability to present to both technical and non-technical stakeholders - Ability to contribute across all phases of the Agile development lifecycle, with emphasis on design, planning, and validation - Ability to work directly with Functional Subject Matter Experts to define requirements and refine user interfaces - Willingness to travel as needed - Must be a US Citizen with an Active DoD security clearance Preferred Qualifcations: - Experience supporting DoD AI/ML platforms, data platforms, or geospatial systems - Familiarity with Agile tools (e.g., Jira) and frameworks (Scrum, SAFe) - Experience in front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript frameworks) for effective collaboration with development teams (not a primary coding role) - Experience with AWS, GCP or other cloud platforms - Experience developing or contributing to design systems and UX governance frameworks - Certifications in Product Management, UX Design, or Agile methodologies (CSM, SAFe, etc.) - Other relevant Technical and Agile certifications (i.e. Certified Scrum Master, Microsoft (MCSD, MCSE) Certifications, SaFE Certifications, etc.)

This position will lead end-to-end technical delivery of a production AI/ML predictive-analytics capability within a regulated U.S. Defense environment. The role spans the full lifecycle of development, including data engineering, model development, secure platform implementation, operational monitoring, and user interface design. Essential Job Duties and Functions: Project Management - Directs all phases of projects from initiation to completion, ensuring deliverables are on time, within budget and meet quality standards. - Defines project scope, creates detailed plans, manages resources and team, mitigates risks and maintains stakeholder satisfaction. Technical Delivery Ownership - Owns end to end delivery outcomes across the development and delivery of an AI/ML platform deployment and associated model buildout for a set of complex Defense uses cases. - Aligns scope and priorities directly with real U.S. Defense mission workflows and user adoption goals. - Ensures proper communication of program progress and management of technical and project risks associated with the deployment. - Partners with technical leads to coordinate container/Kubernetes-based deployments, CI/CD pipelines and automated environment provisioning. RMF/ATO & Compliance - Partners with cybersecurity stakeholders to progress RMF/ATO artifacts and evidence generation as an integrated part of delivery to ensure gaps are proactively managed and closed with engineering coordination to achieve the required ATO. UX/UI & User Adoption - Ensures UX design team translates customer user needs into actionable UX requirements, oversees designers and front-end teams through iterative delivery cycles. - Ensures workflows are operationally aligned, usable, and adoptable by both customer stakeholders at all levels. Basic Qualifications: - Bachelor's Degree or equivalent practical experience in computer science, engineering, data science or related discipline - 10+ years' experience in technical management, with demonstrated success in managing technically oriented deployments and supervising personnel. 8+ years of experience if obtained a relevant Master's degree - 5+ years managing technology deployment programs to the federal government - Demonstrated RMF/ATO experience: evidence planning, remediation coordination, and continuous monitoring alignment. - Technical familiarity in cloud fundamentals, containers/Kubernetes, CI/CD and operational observability - Experience delivering AI/ML analytics solutions into production, including defining quality gates and operating metrics (performance, stability, drift/decay) - Experience with UX/UI delivery through iterative design, user feedback loops, and cross-functional collaboration - Strong communication skills - be able to brief senior leaders and run technical working sessions with operators and engineers - PMP or equivalent project management certification - Willingness to travel as needed - Must be a U.S. citizen with an Active DoD security clearance Preferred Qualifications: - IL 6/DISA SRG familiarity: understanding of SECRET-class enclave constraints, environment promotion, and operational handoffs in classified contexts - Prior experience leading platform or release governance with strict release readiness evidence requirements - Prior experience implementing AI/ML models in secure of classified environments, including navigating data handling constraints, model validation requirements, and deployment approvals - AWS certification, CompTIA Security+ or cloud security specialization

This remote full-time position will provide top-level technical expertise, including performing in-depth and complex AI/ML software systems programming, configuration and analysis. The successful candidate will build, deploy and maintain machine learning systems in production. The information solution architect works with a team of Analysts, Subject Matter Experts and Data Scientist to determine application and data requirements and recommend system solutions. Essential Job Duties and Functions: - Takes AI/ML models from Data Scientist and rewrite/optimizes them for scale. - Builds training/deployment pipelines, APIs, monitoring artifacts. - Helps ensure systems/containers/code are compatible and in compliance with CMMC standards for open systems and DoD architecture. - Identifies, assesses, and presents options for meeting the functional and technical requirements including software updates or upgrades. - Interacts with project management to plan project schedules, level of effort, and technical direction. - Develops AI/ML implementation design documents and technology white papers. - Maintains and recommends software quality coding standards and ensures such standards are adhered to. - Develops high level system design diagrams for program design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation. - Performs QA software product reviews. Basic Qualifications: - Strong software engineering skills using Python, C++, and Java. - Experience using Machine Learning (ML) frameworks (TensorFlow, PyTorch, JAX). - Strong Experience with ML Ops tools (MLflow, Kubeflow, SageMaker, Vertex AI). - Experience with Containerization & Orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes). - Experience in Cloud deployment (AWS/GCP/Azure). - Experience with monitoring & observability for ML systems. - Receiving ML models (often prototypes from Data Scientists) and making them production ready. - Designing end-to-end ML pipelines: training, evaluation, deployment, monitoring, retraining. - Optimizing models for latency, throughput, and cost (quantization, distillation, distributed training). - Implementing ML Ops: CI/CD for ML, model registries, versioning, reproducibility. - Collaborating with Data Engineers to ensure pipeline compatibility, and with Systems Engineers to ensure deployment runs smoothly on cloud infrastructures. - Monitoring model drift, data drift, and setting up automated model retraining triggers. - Writing scalable APIs/microservices to expose models. - Ensuring compliance, security, reliability, and performance in real-world use. - Ability to perform senior level tracking, testing, validation and verification of complex software applications. - Contributing to all activities and steps that form the software development process with an emphasis on design, implementation, testing and deployment. - Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve technical issues independently when needed. - Knowledge of Continuous Integration using Jenkins, Maven, GIT. Ability to deploy updates and fixes. - Ability to work directly with the functional subject matter experts and the customer in the design of software and clarification of requirements. - Ability to engineer secure code, as defined by DoD guidance. - Bachelor’s degree in computer science, mathematics or another techically related field. - Minimum of 7 years’ experience performing the functions on commercial or DoD programs/projects. - Must be a U.S. Citizen with and Active DoD security clearance (preferred), or the ability to obtain and maintain a DoD security clearance.
