Role Description This position is responsible for cultivating and stewarding relationships with targeted donors and prospects to generate and grow planned and major gift revenue. This is accomplished through in-depth research, development and implementation of cultivation strategies, and ongoing personal engagements. - Oversee a portfolio of 125-150 donors and prospects - Personally solicit assigned donor portfolio through face-to-face visits, including preparation of personalized materials - Participate in each step of the donor development cycle including identification, qualification, cultivation, solicitation and stewardship - Complete a minimum of 80-100 face-to-face visits per calendar year to manage relationships toward solicitation of major gifts - Requires a minimum of 50% travel not including required travel to national headquarters and other events - Track and report relationship management activity using internal systems and processes - Monitor quarterly and annual activity to achieve major gift revenue goals - Expected to be raising $1M or more by year 3 - Assist gift planning with blended gift opportunities, charitable gift annuities, and documentation of bequest gifts - Can be remote; must live near an international airport - Attend workshops and seminars annually - Assume other responsibilities as assigned by management Qualifications - Minimum five years’ experience required, with major gift fundraising or direct customer relationship management - Track record of securing $25K+ gifts - Possess an entrepreneurial drive and a team attitude - Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn and effectively use other data sources and websites - General understanding of business/administrative procedures and systems - Polished verbal, written, and presentation skills - Pro-active, organized, and attentive to details - Ability to interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, and governmental regulations - Creative problem solver and able to interpret a variety of written and oral instructions - Ability to maintain composure when faced with varying personalities or in sensitive situations - Valid driver’s license required Requirements - Job requires sitting up to eight hours a day and standing four to six hours a day - Body movement primarily in hand and arm functions associated with normal office activities - Hand and eye coordination, and hand dexterity required for handwriting and keyboarding over prolonged periods of time - Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus - Occasional lifting and/or carrying of no more than 25 pounds, and bending, squatting, pushing and pulling - Position works from home and must be able to support a remote workspace - Frequent vehicle travel for personal visits with donors and prospects is required - Some evening and weekend work may be required Benefits - DAV will provide all remote office set-up supplies and equipment - Automobile travel can be facilitated by using your personal vehicle with reimbursement for miles driven, or by a rental car reserved through DAV’s travel services portal Company Description The noise level in the work environment is usually minimal.
