Role Description We’re seeking a Payer Contracting Specialist (Temp to Perm) for a contract consulting engagement supporting payer contracting and network development across multiple states. This role is ideal for an experienced managed care or provider contracting professional who understands: - Payer relationships - Provider participation agreements - Healthcare reimbursement - Network development The successful candidate will work as an extension of the client’s leadership team, helping advance payer contracting activities with: - Commercial health plans - Medicare Advantage organizations - Medicaid Managed Care Organizations The Payer Contracting Specialist will collaborate closely with: - Credentialing - Legal - Operations - Revenue cycle - Physician recruitment - CWH engagement leadership to ensure payer contracting efforts are aligned with market expansion, provider onboarding, and launch priorities. Qualifications - Minimum of 5 years of experience in healthcare payer contracting, managed care contracting, provider relations, or network development. - Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and relevant healthcare experience. - Experience working with physician groups, provider organizations, health systems, virtual care companies, or similar healthcare organizations. - Strong understanding of commercial health insurance, Medicare Advantage, Medicaid Managed Care, and provider contracting processes. - Experience coordinating or supporting provider participation agreements. - Strong project management, organizational, and follow-up skills. - Ability to manage multiple payer relationships, contracting timelines, documentation requirements, and stakeholder priorities simultaneously. - Clear, professional communication skills with payers, providers, client stakeholders, legal teams, and executive leaders. - Ability to translate contracting status, risks, and next steps into practical updates for leadership and project teams. - Strong attention to detail and a disciplined approach to documentation, tracking, and reporting. - Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, Outlook, and Teams. Requirements - Multi-state managed care contracting experience. - Experience supporting telehealth, virtual care, or national provider network expansion. - Familiarity with physician credentialing and provider enrollment workflows. - Experience with contract lifecycle management systems, payer contract management platforms, or contracting workflow tools. - Existing relationships with national or regional health plans. - Consulting, project-based, or client-facing healthcare experience. As an Associate Consultant, you will play a central role in delivering rigorous, insight-driven work to healthcare investors, technology companies, and providers. Responsibilities vary by engagement but typically include: - Conducting market assessments and landscape analyses across priority healthcare sectors, including home-based care, value-based care, revenue cycle management, and other high-growth areas. - Researching and synthesizing complex healthcare trends and challenges, translating data into clear insights and implications for investors, operators, and technology-enabled businesses. - Developing polished, executive-level presentations and materials designed for C-suite leaders, investment committees, and boards. - Supporting client engagements end-to-end, including research, quantitative and qualitative analysis, and structured storytelling under the guidance of senior engagement leader. - Contributing to business development efforts, including company diligence, market research, and proposal development for new client opportunities.
