Title: Counselor Job Description: Department: Counseling Location: Eastern Campus Reports To: Associate Dean Recruitment Type: External/Internal Requisition ID: req5641 Employment Type: Part-Time Faculty Union Position: Non-Union Work Schedule: Standard College hours with some evenings and weekends as needed Job Description: SUMMARY Performs a full range of academic, personal, career, and transfer counseling activities with diverse student populations. These include but are not limited to, assisting college students, (which may include College Credit Plus students), in developing academic and career goals; creating and developing educational academic plans to degree/certificate completion and/or transfer; identifying and developing strategies and skills for adapting to the educational environment, and providing academic counseling to students in academic curriculum areas. Assists with New Student Orientations by providing individual academic counseling appointments and New Student Orientation presentations. May provide crisis intervention. May teach General Studies courses and student success workshops as needed. When teaching credit and non-credit courses: - Prepares and delivers lectures or learning activities to students on various topics in order to achieve certain outcomes - Prepares course materials such as syllabi, homework assignments and handouts - Evaluates and grades students' class work, laboratory work, assignments, and papers - Maintains student attendance records, grades and other records - Be available to students for coaching - Periodic meetings with supervisors, division, or College, relative to teaching duties and training and development Required Qualifications: - Master's degree in Counseling, Social Work or a closely related field with at least 18 graduate-level course hours in Counseling or Social Work - One year of secondary or post-secondary experience in counseling - Licensed/Licensed-Eligible from the State of Ohio Counselor, Social Worker, Marriage and Family Therapist Board or a state certification in school counseling Preferred Qualifications: - Teaching experience - Higher education counseling in the areas of academic program counseling, transfer counseling, study skills, student assessment, career development, career exploration, personal growth, personal counseling, employment search, college success strategies, college navigation, and crisis intervention Special Note: This is a Part-Time Non-Bargaining Unit Position, with the following Set Rate of Pay: $35.00/hour. Saturdays as needed Number of Openings: 1 Job Description: SUMMARY This is a student focused role that supports lab classes, individual student needs, capstone classes and provides supervision over the open lab. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS - Oversee Recording Arts Technology (RAT) open lab. - Assist recording lab classes. - Tutor RAT, Music and film students on production software. - Assist the Studio Tech Manager with software installation, computer configuration and equipment installations. - Monitor studios during evening capstone sessions. - Oversee equipment checkout on evenings and weekends. - Perform other duties as assigned.
