You’ll be building for real users: - Nursery managers who rely on our system for invoicing, staffing, and compliance. - Practitioners who use iConnect to record observations, track development, and share joyful moments with parents. - Parents who stay connected through ParentZone - 250K active users, rated 4.7/5. As a mid-level engineer in our 6-person remote development team, you'll work across the full stack (React, React Native, Node.js, SQL, AWS), own features end-to-end, and see your code directly improve the lives of educators and children across the UK. What’s in it for you? - 36 days holiday including UK Bank Holidays - A day off for your birthday and your work anniversary (or another day of celebration to better align with your beliefs) - Holiday buy and sell scheme - Flexible approach to the UK bank holidays - trade them for another day of celebration which aligns with your beliefs and values - A truly flexible approach to work allowing you to work at home or at the office and to allow you to flex your hours around you and your team - Life Assurance (4x basic annual salary) and Critical Illness Cover (1x basic annual salary) - Development and Career opportunities - Bupa Health Cash Plan with access to EAP - Cycle to Work scheme - Enhanced Family Friendly Policies What we'll be asking you to do - Build and maintain React web applications and React Native mobile apps, and help design future product lines - you'll have real influence from day one - Design and optimise SQL queries; manage relational database schemas - Build, deploy, and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS - Collaborate with product and design teams to deliver features end-to-end - Participate in code reviews and contribute to technical decisions - Use AI-powered tools to enhance your productivity What you’ll need: - Strong proficiency in React and TypeScript - Solid understanding of SQL and relational database design - Comfortable with Node.js for backend work - Familiarity with modern development workflows (Git, CI/CD, agile) - Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail - Collaborative mindset and ability to communicate technical concepts clearly Desirable skills: - Hands-on experience with AWS services (Lambda, S3, RDS, EC2) - Experience with React Native for mobile development - Familiarity with GraphQL - Experience with MongoDB Can’t tick all of the above off? You'll be paired with a senior engineer throughout onboarding - and in a team of six, support is never more than a DM away. From week one, you'll have clarity on what success looks like and a team genuinely invested in helping you get there.
