Position Overview This role will be accountable to operationalize our Remote Monitoring Centre and lead the Implementation of the Asset Performance Management (APM) system for driving best-in-class process Machinery and Mobile equipment performance. This role will provide technical support and recommendations to improve reliability, availability, and lifecycle performance across mining operations. The position requires a strong foundation in classical reliability engineering combined with modern asset health monitoring, sensor data interpretation, OT/IT integration awareness, and applied analytics to triage anomalies to provide best course of actions to the site maintenance teams. Location: Remote Key Responsibilities Remote Asset Health Monitoring - Lead the setup, implementation and sustainment of Remote Asset Health Monitoring for critical assets. - Develop asset health models that integrate field sensor data, Historian and maintenance system data - Provide technical guidance on OT/IT integration concepts (historians, CMMS, APM platforms, data flows) and Data validation and contextualization - Collaborate with IT, Data Analytics, and OEMs to ensure reliable and secure data pipelines. Asset Performance Management - APM Program Leadership - Serve as the technical owner and reliability lead for the APM implementation. - Define and maintain the reliability framework underpinning the APM system, including: - Asset hierarchies - Failure modes and health indicators - Risk and criticality models - Provide technical input to configuration of Predictive models, Rules-based alerts and Health and risk dashboards - Ensure APM outputs translate into Actionable maintenance work and measurable reliability and cost improvements - Act as the primary liaison between Operations, Maintenance, IT, and the APM implementation team. Condition-Based & Predictive Maintenance Program. To support APM and predictive capabilities will: - Design and implement standards, frameworks, and best practices for a Condition-Based Maintenance program. - Define Critical Asset Lists, Failure modes suitable for CBM/PdM, Sensor and data requirements (vibration, temperature, pressure, oil analysis, electrical, process data). - Work closely with operations and maintenance teams to ensure Field data quality, density, correct interpretation of condition indicators and Effective response workflows to asset health alerts. Analytics & Predictive Technologies - Apply foundational data analytics concepts to support asset health insights. - Support or guide the use of Predictive analytics tools - Validate model outputs using engineering judgement and field knowledge. - Continuously improve models based on operational feedback and failure history. In the long-term, following a successful implementation of our Remote Monitoring Center, this role will support additional capabilities towards Best-in-class Maintenance: Reliability Engineering & Asset Strategy - Provide technical reliability support for Fixed Plant (crushing, conveying, processing, utilities) and Mobile Equipment (haul trucks, shovels, loaders, drills, ancillary equipment). - Identify and eliminate bad actors through data-driven analysis and structured reliability methodologies. - Lead and facilitate Root Cause Analysis (RCA), RCM (Reliability-Centered Maintenance) and FMEA/FMECA - Translate reliability findings into Optimized maintenance strategies, Asset care standards and Improved job plans and task frequencies - Support lifecycle asset decisions including maintenance tactics, spares strategies, and asset replacement recommendations. Standards, Governance & Capability Building - Develop and maintain Reliability engineering standards - CBM/PdM guidelines - Asset health monitoring playbooks - Mentor and coach maintenance and reliability personnel on: - Reliability methodologies - Data-driven decision making - Promote a culture of proactive, risk-based maintenance. Key Competencies - Strong analytical and systems thinking - Ability to bridge engineering, digital, and operational teams - Influential leadership without direct authority - Excellent communication and facilitation skills - Fluency in both Spanish and English is preferred - Practical, field-oriented mindset combined with strategic thinking - Work location: remote or based at one of Coeur's mine operations or offices Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in mechanical, Electrical, or experienced Mechanic/Electrical tradesman/technician - 8-15+ years of experience in maintenance execution, reliability, maintenance engineering, Planning and Scheduling or asset management within mining, heavy industry, manufacturing or oil & gas. - Proven involvement in implementing CBM / PdM programs. Strong understanding of Asset failure modes, Sensor technologies and condition monitoring data - Foundational knowledge of OT/IT integration concepts, Data historians and CMMS integration - Working knowledge of predictive analytics concepts and machine learning applications in asset health. - Ability to translate data outputs into engineering actions. - Experience with APM systems will be a plus - Demonstrated hands-on experience with RCA, RCM, FMEA/FMECA and Bad actor elimination - This job is remote reporting to Coeur's corporate office in Chicago, IL but with 20-40% travel required to the operations - Reliability or asset management certifications are an asset (e.g., CRE, CMRP, ISO 55000, Six Sigma). The salary range offered for this role is $120K-$130K. The salary range is a good-faith estimate. The role partners closely with site leadership and corporate teams to identify, design, and implement initiatives that improve safety, productivity, cost efficiency, and operational reliability across current and newly acquired sites. This position requires strong engineering fundamentals, hands-on operational exposure, and the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights for mine sites and leadership. This is a boots on the ground role to enable uptake of new technology and assimilate process changes into work practices. Location: Remote Key Responsibilities - Support the identification, prioritization, and implementation of continuous improvement initiatives across mining and metallurgical operations. - Design and implement engineering solutions that enable operational excellence initiatives, including process optimization, throughput improvement, cost reduction, and variability reduction. - Apply structured improvement methodologies (e.g., Lean, Six Sigma, Kaizen, problem-solving frameworks) to diagnose operational gaps and develop sustainable solutions. - Facilitate idea generation workshops and continuous improvement sessions with site personnel to capture frontline insights and translate them into actionable improvement projects. - Collaborate with mine operations, mine planning, metallurgy, maintenance, and technical services to ensure solutions are practical, site-ready, and aligned with operational constraints. - Analyze operational data using data visualization tools (Tableau, Power BI) to identify trends, bottlenecks, and improvement opportunities. - Develop, maintain, and query databases using tools such as MySQL or Snowflake to support performance tracking and reporting. - Utilize Python or other statistical analysis programs for data analysis, automation, and development of analytical tools that enhance operational visibility and decision-making. - Engage site stakeholders through effective leadership, communication, and change management practices, fostering ownership and accountability for improvement initiatives. - Provide on-site support and coaching to ensure initiatives are effectively implemented, adopted, and sustained over time. - Support integration and performance improvement efforts at newly acquired sites, ensuring alignment with company operational excellence standards and practices. Qualifications - Experience: - 3–5 years of relevant professional experience. - Engineering background in Mining Engineering, Metallurgy, or a related discipline. - Experience in mine operations and/or mine planning is desirable but not mandatory. - Technical Skills: - Proficiency with data visualization tools such as Tableau and Power BI. - Experience working with databases such as MySQL or Snowflake. - Working knowledge of Python for data analysis and automation. - Location: - Chicago Office or based at one of Coeur’s mine operations or offices. - Travel: Approximately 50% travel, primarily to mine sites The salary range offered for this role is $95 - $110K.
