Climate Defiance

• Develop and lead plans to build our individual donor program, with an emphasis on four and five-figure gifts; • Manage a portfolio of 75+ current and prospective donors, regularly meeting with donors through in-person, phone, video and through email updates; • Identify new donors through Climate Defiance’s events, our database of activists and supporters, as well new avenues; • Manage our development team member and their event planning and major gifts responsibilities, providing training and ongoing support; • Support our Executive Director with his fundraising responsibilities and relationships, including preparing the ED for high value donor conversations and asks. • Develop systems to effectively cultivate, steward, and track donor relationships; • Develop strategies for high-capacity prospects; • Engage with attendees from VIP events, setting up meetings, facilitating introductions, and more. • Maintain our database, driving a strong donor management system, and tracking and analyzing trends; • Play a role in driving our small donor fundraising strategies; • Provide support as needed around other organizational initiatives, such as staff recruitment. • Participate and actively engage in Climate Defiance’s leadership team, providing strategic input into the direction of the work. • Regularly travel to cities for donor meetings and events (estimated at 35-50% time on the road, depending on where you are based).

• Responsible for generating earned media in print, radio, television, blogs, podcasts, and other media. • Collaborate with team building and execution of media relations.

• supervise all organizers and work closely with volunteers • manage up to five organizing staff members in cities across the country • hire and train new organizers as the organization expands • provide regular check-ins, coaching, and training support around organizing skills, planning, and strategizing • support organizers to organize successful direct action events • guide organizers around key tactics, including partnership work and media outreach • travel to chapters to provide in-person training and support and participate in direct actions • support Climate Defiance’s fundraising work by participating in events and stepping in as needed • help design and manage our pipeline of online-to-real-life volunteers

• Managing social media content, plans, calendar, and vision • Creating written content for twitter, bluesky, and threads • Leading tiktok presence, developing content • Leading instagram reels presence, including face-to-camera videos and explainer videos • Managing new media content, including youtube channels and podcasts • Developing other content as needed, including memes • Supporting email program and website content, as needed • Administrative responsibilities, including tracking progress toward online goals • Contributing to Climate Defiance’s overall narrative and communications approach • Travel to cities to participate in actions
