Role Description The Senior Network Engineer and Firewall Implementation is a dual role member of the Managed Security Services (MSS) Team and is responsible for helping the MSS and Managed Cloud Teams implement, manage and maintain client firewalls and switches. This role will be an escalation and confirmation point in the process of event triage and response for client firewall, switching, and VPN related issues and must be able to perform many different tasks within the SOC and mentor other SOC resources to further expand the SOC’s capabilities and capacity to grow, with a focus on extending the firewall and network administration capabilities within the team. This position will require maintenance and support work outside of normal business hours (8 am – 5 pm) Eastern including nights and weekends at times based on client requirements and change management windows. Qualifications - Knowledge of various firewalls types with required experience with Fortinet or Cisco - Experience with administering common network services, such as DNS, DHCP, NTP, etc. - Demonstrated ability to analyze, triage, and remediate firewall and network related issues - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - Experience in troubleshooting in a technical environment - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills - Superior customer service skills - Have or acquire one or more certifications in the cybersecurity domain including, but not limited to: CCENT, CCNA, NSE4 and above, PCNSE, etc., CISCO, Fortinet, Microsoft, Network +, Security+ Requirements - 7+ years of working knowledge of firewall, networking, and security-related information technologies Benefits - Work remotely and provide own computer, printer/scanner, computer audio capability, cell phone, Internet service, and Microsoft Office software. - This position may require occasional travel for training and meetings. Description The Senior Consultant works directly with Clearwater clients, focusing on delivering services, solutions, and tools. The remainder of their time is spent on authoring thought leadership content, creating and delivering team and client educational presentations, maintaining relevant professional certifications, and participating in professional networking opportunities and industry events. Senior Consultants play a crucial role in executing complex client engagements, mentoring junior team members, and contributing to strategic initiatives aimed at improving service delivery and client satisfaction. Occasional travel (15-25%) may be required to support direct client work. SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIES · Execute consulting service engagements in alignment with Statements of Work (SOWs), Clearwater work standards, and client policies using Clearwater templates and methodologies, including but not limited to: o Cybersecurity framework assessments (e.g., NIST, HITRUST, ISO 27001). o Development of cybersecurity policies, procedures, and compliance gap remediation. o Other Clearwater service offerings as needed. · Study, test, document, and improve scalable consulting services processes to ensure high-quality delivery and client satisfaction. · Provide technical advisory services, including creating information asset inventories, performing project analyses, and estimating effort required for engagements. · Customize and continuously enhance client engagement processes, including kick-offs, planning, and on-site presentations. · Develop and improve tools and templates used for client engagements and training subcontractors. · Serve as an advisor to clients, providing expert insights, best practices, and actionable recommendations to enhance their cybersecurity posture. · Conduct virtual and on-site training, orientation sessions, and ongoing client education initiatives. · Participate and present in Clearwater educational and promotional activities, including webinars and client council meetings. · Foster strong relationships with client stakeholders, partners, and internal teams to support engagement success and client retention. · Successful execution of client engagements within scope, budget, and timeline. · Achievement of utilization targets and client satisfaction goals. · Contributions to thought leadership and educational content. · Participation in professional development initiatives and knowledge-sharing efforts. · Adherence to corporate policies, procedures, and security requirements. · Billable hours target: 1,664 hours annually (equivalent to 80% utilization) · Perform other duties within the scope of the role as assigned. Requirements EXPERIENCE REQUIRED · 2-5 years of Consulting, Cybersecurity, or related experience QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, & KNOWLEDGE · BA/BS degree preferred · Professional industry certifications like CISSP, CISA, CISM, Sec+ preferred · In-depth knowledge of cybersecurity and compliance frameworks, such as NIST, ISO 27001, HITRUST, HIPAA, and HHS 405(d). · Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex information security challenges and provide actionable solutions. · Familiarity with enterprise security strategies, vulnerability management, and incident response. · Ability to independently execute engagements, ensuring quality and adherence to agreed timelines. · Strong attention to detail in documentation, analysis, and communication of findings. · Effective prioritization and multitasking skills in a client-facing environment. · Plus: Experience in Healthcare as well as client-facing roles · Self-starter, ability work independently, and can “hit the ground running” in this role. · Ability to embrace Clearwater’s CLEAR core values (Commitment to Client Success, Lead with Accountability, Integrity & Collaboration, Excellence in All That We Do, Advance Colleague Success, Respect & Transparency) and culture.
