Title: SAP Specialist - Temporary Location: Des Plaines, Illinois Department: Accounting/Finance Job Description: The SAP Specialist -Temporary role is responsible for supporting the accurate and timely recording of financial transactions. This project role will assist with general ledger maintenance, account reconciliations, and the preparation of financial reports, contributing to the overall financial health and compliance of the organization. This role will be required to reconcile the SAP accruals with the financial reporting. This project will be SAP intensive and will require extensive SAP experience (version 4/HANA preferred). Essential Job Duties & Responsibilities - Record monthly journal entries and review P&L for completeness. Work with business unit partners in multiple locations in the reporting and analysis of financial statement results including explaining monthly variances by business unit - Assist the month-end closing process to ensure accurate and timely monthly financial reports - Audit accounts payable batches to ensure accuracy of coding, authorization, and amount - Responsible for ensuring effective internal controls - Perform other related job duties as assigned or required Required Qualifications - Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance - 3 to 5 years of experience in corporate financial reporting - SAP Experience Required - ERP Experience Required - Skilled in Microsoft Excel, Access, and general ledger applications - Proficiency in analyzing data, drawing meaningful conclusions, and presenting findings clearly - Clear, concise, and impactful communication skills, both written and verbal - Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills - High energy, self-motivated with an initiative - Work effectively in a team environment to enhance team efficiency - Ability to work under pressure and complete responsibilities within required deadlines - Demonstrates flexibility regarding work hours to meet business needs. In this role, you will build a strong bench of certified trainers, roll out standardized learning plans, and support new site startups, system conversions, and strategic projects. This role requires travel between locations to onboard staff, stabilize performance, and audit compliance.
