Role Description At The Children’s Home Network, we take a holistic approach to mentoring. We believe that intervention and prevention are imperative to mitigating the negative impact that trauma has on early childhood development. Through mentorship, we strengthen the support system and create a safe nurturing environment that promotes healing and empowers youth/child to cultivate and develop resilience. Safe, stable and nurturing relationships are one of the most important factors in building resilience, and they are essential to ensure that the kids in our program are able to thrive and reach their full potential. We are seeking a passionate and highly organized Mentor Specialist to join our team. This role is responsible for overseeing the matching process between mentors and mentees in our Guiding Stars-Mentor Program. The Mentor Specialist will play a key role in ensuring that mentors and mentees are paired based on their needs, goals, and preferences to foster successful and meaningful relationships. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, a deep understanding of mentorship dynamics, and a commitment to supporting the professional and personal growth of participants. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Human Services, Education, Psychology, or a related field (or equivalent experience) with one year of experience working with children and families. - Previous experience in mentoring programs, human resources, or program coordination is preferred. - Strong background in customer service, conflict resolution, or relationship management. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal. - Strong organizational and multitasking abilities. - Ability to work with diverse groups of people and manage multiple stakeholders. - Empathetic and compassionate, with a keen interest in supporting the growth and development of others. - Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, CRM tools, and data management systems. - High attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving. - Ability to adapt to changing needs and work in a dynamic environment. - A passion for community development and the value of mentorship. Requirements - Must possess and maintain a valid Florida driver’s license with no record of criminal driving offense or license suspension. - Must possess means of providing job related transportation and show proof of required insurance. Must be insurable under CHN’s current auto insurance policy. - Must be able to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends as required. - Must successfully complete and maintain FDLE clearance, Federal background and State criminal background check and sexual predator screening. - Current CPR and First Aid Certification.
