Role Description Helping our community’s most vulnerable with solutions that permanently improve lives. Family Connections Consultants and Nurturing Parenting Practitioners support families involved with the Department of Child Services. FC Consultants/NP Practitioners meet with families in their homes to enhance their parenting capacities, utilize change-focused strategies, assist with family bonding and nurturing activities, and explore individual family needs to assist in providing support for long-term change. Family Connection Consultants will implement Family Connections (FC) model and curriculum with fidelity and follow all program and agency policies and procedures. This position has the potential to complete some position requirements from a home setting, client visits are conducted in the client home. Qualifications - Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work or related field. - At least one (1) year of relevant experience. Requirements - Knowledge of community resources, case management, assessment and service planning, and problem solving with complex family needs. - Understanding of DCS systems preferred. - Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. - Well organized and able to effectively manage multiple cases. - Able to work independently and as part of a team. - Flexible and able to adapt to changing working conditions. - Sensitive to cultural differences within the agency and community. - Fluent in Microsoft Office Applications. - Intermediate-level of technology and software use to complete documentation and case work. - Valid AZ driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to show proof of registration/insurance. - Level One Fingerprint clearance or ability to obtain fingerprint clearance; must maintain clearance. - Must be 21 years of age or older to drive on behalf of Catholic Charities. - Must have or complete within 90 days of hire, training in CPR and First Aid and remain current in the certification. (Families in Recovery Succeeding Together- AFF) helps parents address substance abuse issues that are affecting their ability to care appropriately for their children or to get and keep a job. It provides the opportunity for families to overcome the barrier of substance abuse to reach the outcomes of permanency for children, family reunification and self-sufficiency. The goal of the program is to reduce or eliminate abuse of and dependence on alcohol and other drugs and to address other adverse conditions related to substance abuse. The Substance Abuse Case Coordinator serves individuals referred to Catholic Charities’ Arizona Families F.I.R.S.T. program (Families in Recovery Succeeding Together – “AFF”) which supports parents address substance abuse issues that are affecting their ability to care appropriately for their children. For clients in the JOBS program, it will assist clients to get and keep a job. Responsible for providing comprehensive case management including leading groups in discussion to assist families in overcoming the barriers of substance abuse to reach permanency for children, family reunification and self-sufficiency. This position is a telecommuter position. Qualifications - Minimum of a High School Diploma or equivalent. - At least 3 years of related experience including working with multi-problem families in the field of substance abuse, child welfare, or behavioral health. - An Associate’s degree in a human service or behavioral health-related area of study preferred. Requirements - Knowledge and understanding of human behavior, social work theories and techniques as well as community resources. - Counseling, interviewing assessment, therapeutic relationship skills. - Flexibility and ability to work with the uniqueness of each client. - Sensitivity to cultural differences within the agency and community. - Fluency in Microsoft Office Applications (Word & Outlook). - Must be able to stoop, bend, squat, sit on the floor and ambulate over uneven floor surfaces including stairs and steps. - Ability to visually and auditory assess and interact with clients to ensure their safety and wellbeing. - Considerable work outside of the office and substantial driving; requires evening and weekend work on occasion and willingness to be on-call for emergencies. - May lift up to 25 pounds. - Valid AZ driver’s license, reliable transportation, and ability to show proof of registration/insurance. - Level One Fingerprint clearance or ability to obtain fingerprint clearance; must maintain clearance. - Must be 21 years of age or older to drive on behalf of Catholic Charities.
