Role Description Classroom Teacher – General Education responsible for teaching district approved curriculum and ensuring student achievement. - Teaches district approved curriculum using a variety of instructional techniques. - Maximizes instructional time by minimizing non-instructional routines. - Guides the learning process towards district curriculum and goals. - Establishes clear short-term and long-term objectives for lessons. - Participates in collaborative planning, data analysis, and instruction. - Ensures students demonstrate mastery through projects and assessments. - Participates in professional development directed towards competencies. - Maintains accurate records as required by law and district policy. - Takes precautions to protect students and materials. - Creates a conducive classroom environment for learning. - Develops and maintains lesson plans appropriate to district curriculum. - Communicates regularly with parents. - Accepts and performs additional duties as assigned. - Attends all required meetings. - Complies with assigned duty times of the teacher contract day. - Performs other duties as assigned. Qualifications - Bachelor's degree and valid Oklahoma certification required in subject area taught. - Meets Oklahoma State Department of Education and federal standards for a qualified teacher. Requirements - Ability to read, analyze, and interpret written information. - Skill in writing required reports and correspondence. - Ability to effectively present information orally and respond to questions. - Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply them to practical situations. - Ability to solve practical problems with limited standardization. - Ability to interpret a variety of instructions in different forms. Benefits - Salary based on degree and years of experience. Attendance Statement Regular and reliable attendance is required, with an expectation of at least 95% attendance consistent with district policy. Environmental Conditions Primarily inside working conditions; some exposure to environmental conditions during outside duty. Physical Standards Employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, stoop, reach, talk, and hear. Must have close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. Must be able to respond quickly to ensure student safety.
