Role Description We’re looking for an Associate Product Manager to help build and scale a new client-facing software platform in the energy management space. This role is ideal for someone with 2–4 years of experience who enjoys solving complex problems and working across teams to deliver meaningful product outcomes. You’ll sit at the center of product, software engineering, and stakeholders—translating needs into action, keeping teams aligned, and helping us build products that genuinely work for the people who use them. Key Responsibilities - Build & Ship Product - Support product requirements, user stories, and feature development - Organize and maintain documentation of product scopes, feature plans, timelines, and roadmaps - Translate user and business needs into clear, actionable specs - Act as a trusted resource for product knowledge across teams - Help teams balance user experience, business priorities, and technical constraints - Testing & Quality - Own feature testing and validation ahead of releases, coordinating internal resources as testers where needed - Identify and track bugs, edge cases, workflow issues, friction points, unmet needs, and opportunities for improvement - Ensure features align with real-world user behavior and expectations - Insights & Product Impact - Organize feedback about user needs, motivations, and pain points - Build relationships with stakeholders to understand goals, constraints, and success criteria - Gather and synthesize qualitative and quantitative insights into concrete product improvements - Use SQL and data analysis to validate insights and understand product performance - Distill complex data into simple, decision-ready takeaways - Product Ops & Execution - Partner closely with software engineering and stakeholders to ensure product work reflects real user and business needs - Keep roadmaps, specs, and timelines clear, accessible, and aligned across teams - Proactively surface risks, ask questions, and help teams navigate tradeoffs - Ensure decisions and changes are communicated with context—not just updates - Support smooth, predictable releases through early and consistent alignment - Communication & Coordination - Build trust-based relationships across teams to keep work moving and aligned - Facilitate cross-functional conversations and written updates that clarify goals, uncover concerns, and drive shared understanding - Communicate progress, challenges, and decisions with transparency and context - Help maintain a structured, transparent product development process Qualifications - 2–4 years in product, product ops, analytics, or a related role - Experience working cross-functionally with software engineering and business teams Requirements - Strong communication and interpersonal skills; able to build trust quickly - Highly organized with strong attention to detail - Ability to manage multiple workstreams and meet deadlines - Curious, proactive, and comfortable in a fast-moving environment - SQL proficiency required - Strong Excel/data analysis skills - Ability to break down business processes and identify improvement opportunities - Empathetic problem-solver who seeks to understand before acting - Comfortable navigating ambiguity and evolving priorities - Takes ownership and follows through on commitments - Eager to learn, grow, and continuously improve how work gets done - Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) - SQL (MySQL required; Supabase a plus) - Salesforce and API familiarity a plus - Experience using AI tools (Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, etc.) Benefits - Salary Range: $70,000 - $95,000 Company Description Bright Power works with forward thinking owners and developers to identify, design, and implement custom energy and water solutions on a wide variety of systems. Role Description Our Energy Analysts are a vital part of our Analysis team tasked with helping our clients understand the Energy & Water usage of their buildings. This important role provides a foundation for a suite of Energy & Water management services that Bright Power provides to help our clients achieve substantial reductions in utility costs, carbon emissions, and water consumption - all while improving resident comfort. Primary Responsibilities - Manage energy analysis services for multiple clients - Help clients find, fix, and follow energy and water problems - Help clients maintain and understand energy and water data in EnergyScoreCards online software for their portfolio - Meet deadlines, track activities, and manage time in accordance with priorities - Perform and/or oversee all project activities including planning, research, billing, managing to budgets, generation of deliverables, reporting, and presentations to clients and internal stakeholders - Communicate with the client at multiple levels, maintaining strong relationships with key contacts - Lead regular check-ins with clients to discuss building performance trends, opportunities, and questions - Communicate by phone, email, in-person presentations, and written reports - Local Law 84/133 and Local Law 33/95 compliance reporting for our clients, as well as guidance on Local Law 97 - Interface with other teams at Bright Power to leverage expertise in delivering the service, as applicable, especially: - Data team - Technology team - Engineering teams - Support other Bright Power services with analysis expertise - Contribute to growth of the company by making suggestions for improvements Qualifications - Science background, with work in Sustainability or Energy, as well as experience with data analysis - Experience in the real estate, energy efficiency or building operations worlds - Proficiency in MS Excel (data manipulation and basic formulas) - Familiarity with SQL - Ability to stay organized amid many evolving projects; detail-oriented and methodical with large amounts of data - Good written and oral communication skills - Creative and pro-active problem-solving abilities Preferred Qualifications - Experience in client relationship management - Experience preparing client-facing reports - Passion about sustainability, climate change mitigation, and/or creating healthier buildings - Familiarity with energy benchmarking programs and laws - Familiarity with utility bill data Benefits - In addition to working with incredible people, Bright Power offers competitive benefits. The Role The Analysis Business Unit of Bright Power is seeking detail-oriented and motivated interns to join our team. Bright Power works with property owners who have loans through the Fannie Mae Green Loan program and helps them meet their utility data reporting requirements. The Benchmarking and Compliance Intern will review and integrate property owner-paid utility data, as well as research, review, and request whole-building or individual apartment authorization forms and utility data. This position plays a crucial role in ensuring the success of the entire program.
