The Opportunity This is a role for someone who is early in their government technology career and ready to do the work to become great at it. You will work alongside a Director of Sales and a Founder who know this market cold — and they will show you how it works while you execute alongside them. You are not handed a territory and left alone. You are given real pipeline, real relationships to tap, and real mentorship from people who have closed in this space. What we need from you is effort, coachability, and the hunger to own your number. If you are looking for a place to learn the SLED market from people who live in it — and to build a career in an industry where relationships compound over time — this is a strong place to start. What You’ll Do - Support and advance active opportunities in Avèro’s pipeline — understand where each deal stands and keep it moving - Prospect independently to identify new opportunities: research agencies, track procurement calendars, and generate qualified conversations - Build relationships with government contacts at the department and procurement level — and develop the skills to eventually engage at the executive level - Attend government technology conferences and association events (ICMA, GFOA, NACo, and similar) to represent Avèro and expand your network - Qualify inbound inquiries and referrals and hand off or advance them appropriately - Assist with proposal development — contributing to scoping, writing, and formatting competitive responses - Track market intelligence: upcoming RFPs, budget cycles, agency modernization news, and procurement activity - Develop into a full-cycle seller — this role is designed to grow with you What We’re Looking For Required: - 2–4 years of sales or business development experience — ideally in technology, consulting, or public sector markets - Genuine interest in government technology and public sector operations — you do not need to know everything, but you need to care about learning it - Ability to prospect, qualify, and follow through without being managed to the task — you are self-directed and accountable - Clear, professional communication — written and verbal — that builds trust with government buyers - Willingness to travel for conferences, client meetings, and relationship development Preferred: - Prior exposure to ERP, financial systems, or technology consulting sold into government - Familiarity with state and local government procurement processes, fund accounting, or public budgeting - Experience at a small firm or startup where you had to figure things out and build as you went - Any existing connections in the SLED market — procurement officers, finance departments, city or county staff Compensation Base Salary: $80,000 – $100,000 Commission: 1.5–3% of closed contract value, uncapped Your base reflects where you are in your career; your commission reflects what you produce. As you develop your skills and close business independently, your earning potential grows with it. Health, dental, and vision coverage and 401(k) included. Why Avèro - You learn from people who actually know this market — not a playbook written by someone who never sold into government - Small enough that your contributions are visible; established enough that the brand opens doors - Clients doing work that matters — public agencies serving real communities - A defined path: sellers who perform here have room to grow as the firm grows

The Opportunity The person in this role will own sales from the ground up — building pipeline, chasing existing pipeline, developing relationships, and closing new consulting engagements across the SLED market. You will work directly with the Founder & CEO, with full visibility into the firm's strategy, clients, and opportunities. This is not a role for someone who needs a full SDR team, a marketing engine, and a brand name behind them to function. It is a role for someone who knows how government buys, already has relationships worth calling on, and wants to own something real. What You'll Do – Build and manage a pipeline of new consulting opportunities in the SLED market — cities, counties, special districts, and state agencies – Develop and maintain relationships with government buyers: CAOs, CFOs, CIOs, procurement officials, and department directors – Represent Avèro at government technology conferences, association events, and procurement forums (ICMA, GFOA, NACo, and similar) – Qualify inbound inquiries and convert referrals into active engagements – Collaborate with the delivery team to drive growth, scope engagements and develop proposals – Provide market intelligence — what agencies are planning, what RFPs are coming, where the opportunities are – Help shape how Avèro's business development and sales function is built — you're writing the playbook What We're Looking For Required: – 5+ years of quota-carrying sales experience in enterprise software, ERP, or technology consulting sold to state and local government – Demonstrated track record closing deals in the SLED market — you know how government procurement actually works – Existing relationships with government buyers who will take your call – Consultative approach — you diagnose before you pitch – Comfort operating independently, without heavy support infrastructure – Willingness to travel for in-person relationship building Preferred: – Background with Oracle NetSuite, SAP, Tyler Technologies, Workday, or similar government ERP platforms – Familiarity with cooperative purchasing vehicles (NASPO, Sourcewell, OMNIA) – Active participation in government professional associations – Prior experience at a boutique firm, SI, or independent advisory — you understand the resource constraints and thrive anyway Why Avèro – Your work is visible and valued — you're not one of 3,000 sellers – Direct access to firm leadership and a founder who can close alongside you – Clients you can be proud of — public agencies doing important work – Commission structure tied directly to what you produce – A firm that has grown deliberately and will grow the right way
