Role Description This role requires an accomplished Chief Operating Officer (COO) to oversee global manufacturing and engineering functions. Reporting directly to the CEO, the COO will serve as a senior leader responsible for translating strategic objectives into rigorous operational and engineering execution across all global operations. This position demands a strategic operator who combines broad organizational perspective with strong operational and engineering expertise. The COO will be responsible for: - Safety, quality, delivery, cost, and capacity performance - Driving scalable systems, leadership development, and technical proficiency to support ongoing expansion Qualifications - Demonstrated experience as a COO, VP of Operations, or comparable executive role within a multi-site, global manufacturing company; preference given to candidates with experience in regulated industries. - Proven track record scaling operations and enhancing performance. - Expertise in manufacturing engineering, NPI, process development, and technology transfer. - Background in regulated or quality-critical manufacturing contexts. - Strong commercial and financial acumen, with experience collaborating closely with CEO, CFO, and executive teams. - Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or relevant advanced degree preferred. Requirements - Ultimate responsibility for global manufacturing and engineering outcomes across ATL regions and facilities (US, UK, Costa Rica, China, and Taiwan). - Translate corporate strategy into cohesive operational and engineering priorities, investment plans, and quantifiable results. - Responsible for site-level performance in safety, quality, delivery, cost, and capacity; ensure accountability among site and engineering leaders through consistent standards and metrics. - Lead worldwide engineering functions—including manufacturing engineering, NPI, and process development—to ensure robust product launches, technology transfers, and scalable production. - Champion disciplined execution by instituting standardization, lean methodologies, and a strong operating rhythm across operations and engineering. - Ensure operational and engineering preparedness for customer scale-ups, introduction of new technologies, and evolution of operational footprints. - Adhere to stringent standards in regulated manufacturing environments; safety and quality are fundamental priorities. - Develop a competent global team of operations and engineering leaders, fostering accountability, career growth, and succession planning. - Establish and lead a disciplined enterprise operating system and governance cadence. - Ensure effective deployment and ongoing performance of the Quality Management System (QMS) and regulatory compliance infrastructure. - Oversee a global EHS management system to drive injury prevention, incident reporting and investigations, risk assessment, contractor safety, and jurisdictional compliance reporting. - Oversee manufacturing execution and digital quality systems to ensure data integrity, traceability, and audit-ready manufacturing records across sites. - Lead integrated business planning capabilities and supply chain controls. - Provide executive oversight of ERP-enabled operational controls. - Ensure robust product lifecycle and engineering system governance and stage-gate execution for NPI, design transfer, and technology transfer. - Oversee maintenance and reliability programs supported by CMMS/EAM. - Standardize KPI definitions and performance analytics to drive a single source of truth. - Own operational risk management and business continuity readiness. - Partner with CIO/CISO to govern IT/OT reliability and cybersecurity controls. - Build scalable talent and performance management mechanisms. Costing Engineer Position Overview The Costing Engineer supports ATL’s global commercial and engineering teams by developing accurate, technically sound product cost models for medical device programs. This role serves as a key technical partner to Sales, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and NPI teams, ensuring that new business opportunities are evaluated consistently, competitively, and accurately. This position is ideal for an engineer with 2–5 years of experience in medical device manufacturing, process engineering, industrial engineering, or cost/operations analysis who is looking to broaden their exposure to global manufacturing, quoting strategy, and cross functional collaboration. Key Responsibilities Costing & Engineering Analysis - Develop and maintain detailed cost models for medical device components, subassemblies, and finished goods. - Create new cost sheets or revise existing cost models using ATL’s approved costing templates. - Ensure models accurately reflect: - BOM structure and material sourcing - Country of origin requirements - Manufacturing routings and labor content - Equipment, tooling, and fixture needs - Collaborate with manufacturing and engineering teams to validate routings, cycle times, and process assumptions. Global Costing Coordination - Coordinate costing activities across ATL’s global manufacturing sites. - Define scope of work and deliverables for site specific cost inputs. - Track cost package progress and escalate risks to timelines or accuracy. - Participate in weekly Global Costing reviews. Quoting & New Business Support - Review customer RFQs and quote packages to identify technical gaps, assumptions, or risks. - Work with Sales and Customers to clarify requirements and define manufacturable solutions. - Propose alternate designs, materials, or processes to improve cost or feasibility. - Ensure New Business Opportunity (NBO) approvals are received prior to starting costing activities. Supplier & NPI Collaboration - Partner with Supply Chain to obtain and analyze supplier quotations based on forecasted volumes. - Ensure all supplier and equipment quotes are documented and stored per process. - Collaborate with NPI teams to estimate Non Recurring Engineering (NRE) costs. - Maintain cost model integrity when projects move from quote to awarded status, incorporating approved engineering changes. Process & Systems Ownership - Maintain accurate records in ATL’s Microsoft Costings List, including opportunity details, status, timelines, and closure. - Support consistency and compliance with ATL’s global costing process. - Utilize and maintain data across ATL systems, including: - ERP (Infor) - CRM - SharePoint - PLM - Workfront - Power BI - Microsoft Lists Required Qualifications - Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial, Biomedical, or similar) or a related technical discipline. - 2–5 years of experience in medical device manufacturing, engineering, costing, or operations analysis. - Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, BOM structures, and production environments. - Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office tools. - Experience working with ERP and PLM systems. - Strong analytical and problem solving skills. - Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Preferred Qualifications - Experience supporting medical device quoting or new business evaluation. - Exposure to global manufacturing or multisite production models. - Familiarity with equipment capital costing and tooling estimates. - Experience collaborating cross functionally with Sales, NPI, and Supply Chain teams. - Power BI or data visualization experience is a plus. Global Supply Chain Director The Global Supply Chain Director will be responsible for overseeing and managing ATL's comprehensive, international supply chain operations. This position requires a strategic leader with extensive experience in global supply chain management, problem-solving capabilities, and the ability to drive efficiency and innovation across diverse geographical regions in a highly vertically integrated environment. What you will be doing: Strategic Planning and Execution - Develop and implement comprehensive global supply chain strategies that align with the company's overarching objectives and international presence. - Lead and manage global supply chain operations, including procurement, logistics, inventory management, and delivery across multiple sites. - Identify and mitigate risks within the global supply chain to ensure continuity and reliability across various markets. - Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency, reduce costs, and improve service levels on a global scale. Supplier and Vendor Management - Establish and maintain robust relationships with key suppliers and vendors worldwide. - Negotiate contracts and agreements to secure the most favorable terms and conditions on an international level. - Monitor supplier performance and implement corrective actions as necessary to ensure global standards are met. - Develop a rigorous supplier qualification and audit process to ensure compliance with international industry standards and regulations.
