• Supports the Director of Media and Public Relations in advancing team communication goals • Drafts news releases, statements, social media posts, and newsletter content • Helps plan and promote media briefings • Tracks news for drafting and newsjacking opportunities • Develops media lists and pitches stories to reporters • Utilizes Meltwater to follow social media and news mentions • Attends meetings with public relations team, program teams, and vendors

• Designs social media graphics, promotional assets, and digital collateral aligned with organizational brand standards • Creates and adapts materials for events, infographics, reports, and presentation decks across multiple platforms and formats • Performs light video editing and creation for social media clips, webinar highlight reels, and long-form content including captions, lower thirds, and branded motion elements • Assists with organizing raw footage and exporting deliverables in platform-specific formats • Participates in creative check-ins and project reviews with the Director of Content Development • Ensures graphic and digital assets meet 508 compliance and accessibility standards prior to publication • Develops and updates branded templates for recurring communications needs such as social media, presentations, and event materials

• Leads, directs, and manages ASTHOs government relations, public relations, and state health policy teams to advance ASTHOs mission to support, equip, and advocate for state and territorial health officials in their work of advancing the publics health and well-being • Develops and implements advocacy strategy and operational plans for advancing advocacy, state health policy, and public relations goals • Serves as ASTHO spokesperson and expert on policy and legislative issues • Works with ASTHO board of directors and the government relations committee to develop and implement an annual legislative agenda • Advances the interests of state and territorial public health department chief health officers with Congress, the administration, media, and partners • Leverages existing and develops new strategic relationships with partners that are aligned with advancing state and territorial public health priorities • Provides tools and resources for senior health officials to use during direct interactions with members of Congress, the administration, and/or governors • Serves as a member of the Executive Team • Maintains collaborative working relationships with staff and partner organizations • Leads public health coalitions on behalf of ASTHO to advance the organizations priorities such as ASTHOs affiliates

• Build and maintain trusted relationships with state health officials, as well as conduct listening sessions to understand priorities, constraints, and implementation needs • Coordinate state convenings and forums that build relationships, identify shared priorities, and develop action plans • Coordinate and staff working groups, committees, and initiatives on issues states identify for collaborative work, including supporting peer exchanges, best practice sharing, and exploratory initiatives among participating jurisdictions • Working with state subject matter experts and SME consultants, synthesize best available science and state input to develop practical options for unified recommendations that support safety, efficacy, transparency, access, and trust • Synthesize diverse perspectives and develop practical options that strengthen state capabilities to protect community health, recognizing the uniqueness of each state and that collaborative work and implementation strategies will be shaped by each states distinct context • Facilitate sharing of tools and best practices among states and coordination with national professional organizations • Identify resource needs and potential funding to support ongoing work • Lead coordination and implementation of grant funded activities by ensuring all deliverables, milestones, and reporting requirements are met • Track project timelines, prepare progress reports, and coordinate internal and external reporting to funders • Manage project timelines and ensure delivery of commitments to participating states • Develop and implement systems for knowledge management, resource sharing, and documentation • Lead planning and execution of state convenings, including logistics, budget management, and follow-up

• Leader, collaborator, and content expert responsible for guiding, developing and implementing cross-program, cross-sector solutions to state and territorial health public health issues and concerns, with an emphasis on private/technology partnerships, business development, governmental public health advancements, public health and health care integration, and innovation solutions. • Leads efforts to modernize the public health data and technology ecosystem through expanding innovation solutions and partnerships, both for ASTHO and state/territorial health agencies. • Provides oversight to ASTHOs leadership/meetings operations and public health infrastructure work and continues work integrating these workstreams with larger strategic goals. • Works to strengthen state and territorial health agency capacity to develop and implement new and innovative public health approaches with traditional and non-traditional partners through novel applications of artificial intelligence, leveraging design thinking and other innovative problem-solving methods. • Leads, collaborates, and facilitates internal and external buy-in of innovative, integrated, cross-program cooperation by including appropriate internal and external partners in innovation opportunity/issue identification, solution development and implementation planning. • Collaborates with a wide range of organizations or groups including ASTHO affiliates, ASTHO Alumni Society, federal agencies, health care system partners, the Public Health Accreditation Board, National Association of County & City Health Officials, American Public Health Association, funders, national health care provider associations, national business organizations, corporations, other sector state agency leader associations, think tanks, and many others. • Serves as a key executive leader in ASTHOs business development and partner diversification strategy. • Provides executive oversight into the implementation of ASTHOs strategic plan and goals specific to the division. • Represents ASTHO with external partners, including healthcare, private, and technology industry. • Establishes and maintains partnerships with appropriate federal agencies, national organizational partners, funders and non-traditional public health partners at the state, regional and national level. • Provide visionary leadership for the organizations business development strategies. • Leads cross-sector, cross-program and interdisciplinary efforts both externally and internally to assess, develop and implement innovative solutions to complex, modern public health challenges, including technological infrastructure modernization and transformative engagement with health care and other sectors, for state and territorial agencies. • Leads and provides technical and capacity-building assistance to state and territorial health agencies specific to these cross-program solutions and how they are implemented in diverse jurisdictions. • Leads strategic engagement with private sector partners via multiple ASTHO initiatives to leverage market insights and private sector practices to improve public health system performance. • Leads efforts to strengthen public-private partnerships to advance, and transform the work of public health agencies. • Collaborates with ASTHO staff including the CEO, senior vice presidents, vice presidents, senior directors and staff members to develop cross-program, cross-sector solutions as issues and opportunities are identified. • Clearly defines roles and responsibilities of cross-program, cross-sector solutions, and clearly articulates vision for success and associated outcome performance measures. • Maintains situational awareness of relevant research, policies, and practices pertaining to health care, technology, data, and other sectors. • Contributes to organizational planning, strategic planning, and project management of relevant program areas. • Represents ASTHO at external meetings and conferences as appropriate. • Supervises and provides executive oversight of the 4 VP led units within the Division. • Monitors and evaluates project activities to include establishing performance measures, collecting and analyzing data, and determining areas for continuous improvement.
