• Lead the security of Alpen’s cloud infrastructure, production systems, internal platforms, and operational environments. • Design, implement, and maintain security controls across AWS and cloud-native infrastructure. • Lead infrastructure hardening initiatives across servers, containers, Kubernetes clusters, and cloud services. • Drive identity and access management programs, including least-privilege access, RBAC, privileged access management, and secrets management. • Own vulnerability management processes, remediation programs, and infrastructure security reviews. • Build and improve security monitoring, detection engineering, alerting, and incident response capabilities. • Investigate security incidents, conduct root-cause analysis, and lead response and recovery efforts. • Develop and maintain incident response playbooks, operational procedures, and security runbooks. • Partner with engineering teams to secure CI/CD pipelines, deployment workflows, and developer platforms. • Review infrastructure architecture and operational changes to identify and mitigate security risks. • Automate security controls and integrate security tooling into engineering workflows. • Conduct threat modeling and architecture reviews for infrastructure and platform services. • Support endpoint security, device management, vendor security assessments, and internal security initiatives. • Establish security metrics, reporting, and visibility into operational risk across the organization. • Collaborate effectively within a globally distributed team.

Role Description As a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE), you will lead the design, scalability, and reliability of Alpen’s core infrastructure. This role is ideal for someone who combines deep technical expertise with a strong sense of ownership and a DevOps mindset. You’ll play a critical role in ensuring our systems are highly available, observable, and resilient as we scale a global, distributed blockchain platform. You’ll partner closely with engineering, security, and platform teams to drive reliability standards, lead infrastructure initiatives, and mentor other engineers. Key Responsibilities - Design, build, and maintain highly available, scalable infrastructure on AWS - Lead Kubernetes architecture and operations for production-grade systems - Own and evolve infrastructure as code using Terraform - Design and maintain observability systems using Prometheus, Grafana, and Loki - Define and implement SLIs, SLOs, and error budgets - Lead incident response, postmortems, and reliability improvements - Drive automation across deployments, scaling, and system management - Improve CI/CD pipelines and release processes for speed and safety - Champion DevOps best practices across engineering teams - Lead complex infrastructure and reliability projects end-to-end - Improve the on-call experience through clear alerting, strong documentation, and faster incident resolution - Encourage teams to adopt a DevOps approach by empowering engineers to use infrastructure tools independently while elevating operational standards - Collaborate effectively within a globally distributed team Qualifications - 10+ years of experience in SRE, DevOps, or related roles - Deep expertise in AWS, Kubernetes, and Terraform in production environments - Strong hands-on experience with observability stacks (Prometheus, Grafana, Loki, alerting systems) - Proven ability to lead infrastructure or reliability-focused projects - Strong understanding of distributed systems, networking, and Linux systems - Experience working in globally distributed, async teams - Based in the United States Requirements - Experience with L1 and/or L2 blockchain infrastructure (Bitcoin, Ethereum, Polygon, ZkSync or similar) - Familiarity with zero-knowledge systems or cryptographic infrastructure - Experience supporting high-throughput, low-latency distributed systems - Background working in startup or high-growth environments Benefits - Invitation to actively contribute to the evolution of cutting-edge technologies within the blockchain space - Unique opportunity to innovate and devise creative solutions for complex engineering challenges - Commitment to providing all the resources necessary for your learning, growth, and productivity - Compensation package designed to mirror your passion, dedication, and hard work - Recognition and appreciation of your contributions through generous compensation

• Own ecosystem marketing strategy • Own how Alpen EVM is positioned and understood by partners and the broader ecosystem • Develop a clear narrative and brand strategy aligned with partnership and distribution goals • Build and execute strategies that generate inbound interest from relevant ecosystem participants • Ensure marketing efforts are tightly aligned with BD pipeline and partnership KPIs • Lead the creation of high-impact content (e.g., reports, thought leadership, ecosystem narratives) • Expand on successful content formats to consistently generate inbound and awareness • Translate complex technical concepts into compelling, ecosystem-relevant narratives • Identify and prioritize the most important conferences, events, and channels • Scale content formats that consistently drive inbound and ecosystem engagement • Drive strategic participation in moments that matter for ecosystem growth • Partner closely with BD to understand distribution and partnership targets • Translate those goals into effective marketing strategies and campaigns • Own inbound demand and ecosystem visibility, while BD owns partner relationships and deal execution • Bring a strong point of view on how Alpen should go to market within the ecosystem • Continuously refine positioning, channels, and programs based on results

• Own security across protocol-layer components (L2, bridge, custody) • Act as the final gatekeeper before code hits main • Lead threat modeling, design reviews, and mitigation planning • Write critical patches and drive hardening when bandwidth is limited • Maintain security CI tooling: sig-verification, SAST, fuzzing, secrets scanning • Review 100% of protocol-relevant PRs and enforce automated checks • Run secure coding workshops and pair-program during critical sprints • Interface with auditors and bounty researchers to scope, triage, and fix issues • Authority to block merges or deploys on security grounds • Direct commit access for emergency fixes

• Lead and grow a team of talented engineers working on core infrastructure and protocol components • Set and uphold engineering best practices, including code quality, testing, and documentation • Collaborate with product, protocol, and infra teams to define and deliver on roadmap priorities • Participate in architecture design and technical planning across the stack • Provide regular coaching, support career growth, and lead performance reviews for your team • Help with hiring and onboarding new engineers as the team scales • Ensure the team is focused, unblocked, and shipping high-impact work on time
