See how we’ve been continuously recognized and named one of Inc. Magazine’s Best Workplaces, Forbes America’s Best Startup Employers, Best Fintech to Work for by American Banker, year after year. Check out our investors and read more about us here. About the team We’re seeking a Finance Director to help steer the financial strategy of our rapidly growing organization. Reporting to the Head of Finance—with the CEO as your skip-level—you’ll own the corporate long-range plan, lead a team of two, and serve as a strategic partner across every function of the business. This is a high-visibility, in-office role based around Union Square (4 days per week) where your work will directly shape how Alloy invests, grows, and operates. What you'll be doing As the Finance Director, you'll: - Own and continuously refine the corporate long-range plan, translating company strategy into a rigorous financial framework that guides how we invest and grow - Build board-level materials, investor presentations, and strategic analyses that tell a clear, compelling story grounded in data - Lead ad hoc deep-dives on high-priority business questions — whether that's evaluating a new market, sizing an opportunity, or pressure-testing a pricing change - Work cross-functionally with Product, Engineering, Sales, and Operations to ensure financial considerations are embedded in every major decision - Develop scenario analyses and sensitivity models to help leadership weigh tradeoffs and commit resources with confidence - Partner closely with GTM and HR teams to design, manage, and refine compensation plans - Support fundraising efforts by leading financial diligence processes and preparing materials for prospective investors - Manage, mentor, and develop two direct reports, fostering a culture of ownership and analytical rigor Who we’re looking for Reporting to the Head of Finance, we're looking for someone with 7+ years of progressive finance experience who cut their teeth in investment banking and has spent time on the investing side — ideally in private equity or growth equity. You've built models under pressure, synthesized ambiguity into clear recommendations, and understand how investors evaluate businesses from the inside out. You've also operated in a high-growth startup environment, where you've navigated the speed, ambiguity, and scrappiness that come with scaling. Above all, we care about intellectual curiosity and a high degree of ownership. You dig beneath the surface of every number, question assumptions, and are constantly seeking to understand "why." You don't wait to be told what to do — you identify problems, propose solutions, and drive them to completion, treating the company's outcomes as your own. You love keeping your pulse on all financial aspects of the business and want to make an outsized impact. We're looking for someone with an endless drive for improvement, an ability to deliver high-quality work on tight deadlines, and the flexibility to adapt to quickly changing needs while being highly detail-oriented. You possess excellent written & oral communication and are equally effective in management meetings and a cross-functional working session. We're a lean team, so your impact will be felt immediately. If this all sounds like a good fit for you, why not join us? Alloy is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. Below is the anticipated starting base compensation range for this role; however, pay may vary depending on job-related knowledge, in-demand skills, relevant experience, and/or geography. In addition to a competitive base salary, this position is also eligible for equity awards in the form of stock options (ISOs) as well as a competitive total benefits package. Your recruiter will be happy to walk you through the details and what compensation could look like for you specifically! This position has a salary range of $175,000 to $250,000. Benefits and Perks - Unlimited PTO and flexible work policy - Employee stock options - Medical, dental, vision plans with HSA (monthly employer contribution) and FSA options - 401k with 100% match up to 4% of annual employee compensation - Eligible new parents receive 16 weeks of paid parental leave - Home office stipend for new employees - Annual Learning & Development annual stipend - Well-being benefits include access to ClassPass, OneMedical, UrbanSitter, and Spring Health - Hybrid work environment: employees are expected to work Tuesdays through Thursdays from our HQ in Union Square, Manhattan. Tasty lunches catered from a variety of local restaurants and frequent employee-organized cultural events contribute to our positive office energy. On Monday/Friday most employees Zoom into work from home while some take advantage of the quieter office.

You will play a critical role in supporting the accounting team in the month-end close process and year-end audit, while also helping to develop and implement the key processes and systems needed to scale our billing and revenue operations as the business grows. We’re looking for a team player, resourceful problem solver, and analytical thinker who is not afraid to get their hands dirty — someone who sees a broken process and fixes it, and who brings real ownership to everything they touch. What you'll be doing As the Accounting Associate, you’ll: - Own the full-cycle accounts receivable process — from monthly billings and issuing customer invoices to following up on collections, resolving disputes, and applying cash - Review customer contracts and order forms to ensure accurate billing setup in accordance with agreed terms, and maintain deferred revenue schedules in compliance with ASC 606 - Participate in month-end close processes, including posting journal entries related to AR, deferred revenue, customer write-offs, and bad debt reserves - Monitor accounts receivable aging and proactively manage collections, including customer outreach, escalations, and follow-ups to maintain healthy cash conversion - Investigate and resolve billing and payment discrepancies, including short pays, disputes, and unapplied cash, and serve as the primary point of contact for internal and external billing inquiries - Complete balance sheet and account reconciliations, confirming the validity of information across NetSuite, Salesforce, and other systems of record - Support cash collections forecasting by analyzing AR trends and expected payment timing, and contribute to management reporting on DSO and revenue metrics - Develop robust documentation of internal controls and processes, ensuring they meet the requirements of external auditors, and assist with audit requests and ad hoc projects - Continually improve business processes through thoughtful analysis and by researching best practices — and assist in the planning and implementation of key financial software solutions, including revenue management tools Who we’re looking for Reporting to the Controller, we’re looking for someone with 5+ years of accounting experience, with hands-on exposure to billings and order-to-cash in the software or technology industry. You hold a bachelor’s degree in accounting, have a solid grasp of US GAAP including the fundamentals of revenue accounting, and have meaningfully contributed to a month-end close cycle. You’ve operated as an accounting associate or accounting specialist at a startup or high-growth company — meaning you know what it’s like to work where the playbook is still being written, and you’ve stepped up anyway. You’re proficient in NetSuite and Salesforce, and comfortable across the Microsoft Office Suite — including intermediate-to-advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, SUMIFs). You bring strong accountability, acute attention to detail, and the ability to work independently and solve complex problems without waiting to be told what to do. You communicate clearly with internal business partners at all levels, and you’re as comfortable in the weeds of a reconciliation as you are presenting a summary to leadership. Above all, we want someone with a real hunger to learn and grow — new things aren’t scary for you, they’re exciting. You take pride in your work, treat accuracy like a professional obligation, and bring genuine ownership to every process you touch. We’re a lean team, so your impact will be felt immediately.
