Alliant Energy is seeking a Senior Project Manager – Construction to lead large, complex gas projects from planning through execution. This hybrid role offers flexibility while including travel to project sites, where you’ll partner with cross-functional teams to deliver safe, reliable energy solutions. If you bring strong experience in gas or power generation projects and thrive in a visible, hands-on leadership role, this is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact Job Summary Senior Project Manager is responsible for the successful initiation, planning, development, administration, risk management, implementation, control, and closure of large-sized projects across multiple business units through the Alliant Energy Program and Project Management department. The Senior Project Manager will work on gas projects so experience in power generation projects and gas generation is essential. What you will do - Understands and utilizes the Alliant Energy project management methodologies and processes based on Project Management Institute (PMI) for project delivery in order to achieve scope, schedule, and cost objectives, while effectively managing risks that have the potential to affect project deliverables. - Determines specific business needs and deliverables of a project, and utilizing project management tools, establishes and manages the costs, resources, performance measurements, timeline, and technical objective required to complete the project and meet the expected project outcome. - Determines appropriate project resource and staffing skillsets, including determining the level of expertise needed to complete a project while assessing strategies that can be made to reduce the overall project risk factor. - Manages applicable project contracts in conjunction with sourcing personnel. - Ensures that the work is completed to specifications and is on schedule as specified in the contract. - Responsible for development and execution of communication and stakeholder management plans related to projects, including the development and reporting of project status, risks, and progress to stakeholders in an agreed to format, frequency, material content, and audience for the communications. - Ensures training needs are met for project team members and users of project. - Upon completion of projects, ensures operational teams are properly trained, work orders are closed, all related finance charges are handled, team members are reassigned, documentation is in order, and a smooth transition of deliverables occurs. - Provides support to and mentors others in the use of organizational change management methodology and business consulting support as needed within the context of program and project management to aid in assurance of achievement of strategic objectives. - May be responsible for performing a cost/benefit analysis of the project and ensuring feasibility. - Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities. What you will do - Processes appropriate paperwork to file claims for outstanding utility balances. - Identifies all customer accounts impacted by bankruptcy makes notes and performs follow up. - Responds to incoming calls, correspondence, and emails from community assistance agencies that are aiding customers. - Accesses customer information systems (CIS) accounts and answers questions related to account status, balance, usage, and payment agreement status and options. - Aids community assistance agencies with inquiries related to the online self-service application energy assistance center (EAC), including access issues and encouraging use of system to agency staff. - Processes non-utility accounts with outstanding balances. - Sends customer correspondence, answers related phone calls from customers or internal employees, documents customer information systems (CIS) accounts, transfers outstanding balances to collection agencies, and responds to inquiries and notifications related to those accounts. - Answers inquiries from collection agencies related to disputes, recalls, commissions, and financial adjustments. - Makes outgoing collections calls to customers discussing past due account balances, processes payments, sets up payment arrangements, and notes CIS accounts. - Engages in other duties as needed that support Alliant Energy’s Values and helps deliver on our Purpose to serve customers and build stronger communities. What you will do - ELECTRIC - Shall perform same duties as a Line Mechanic. - GAS duties are as follows: - Shall perform Border Station activities such as observe pressure, temperature, inking and changing charts, reading meters. - Leak activities, either survey or customer generated: probe gas mains, services, customers premises using gas leak detectors, both gas and CO. - Set meters, turn gas on/off, lighting equipment as necessary. and general minor customer service work. - Shall assist a Journeyman Gas Mechanic in the installation, operation and maintenance of pressurized mains and services. - This classification shall not be grouped together to perform Gas Serviceperson's work. - This classification shall perform the same gas duties as the Customer Service Mechanic.
