This is a senior underwriting role. The right candidate brings technical depth in loss sensitive structures, established broker relationships, and a track record of underwriting middle market commercial risks profitably. - Underwrite loss sensitive middle market and national account risks, including large deductible, SIR, and retrospective rating programs, with sound technical judgment on pricing, structure, and terms. - Build and maintain broker relationships, serving as a consistent and reliable market for complex, loss-sensitive placements and captive structures in the middle market. - Deliver multi-option solutions on eligible submissions — captive and loss sensitive — ensuring brokers have a complete picture of available structures for each account. - Manage and grow an assigned book of business, maintaining underwriting discipline, monitoring portfolio quality, and achieving production targets. - Build admitted and non-admitted insurance products including building a forms library and assisting in the implementation of a policy administration system. Qualifications - 5–12+ years of commercial lines underwriting experience at a top carrier, with a focus on middle market or national accounts. - Hands-on technical expertise in loss sensitive structures — large deductible, SIR, and retrospective rating — is required. - Captive experience is a plus.
