Job Description

Supplier Quality Engineer

BAE Systems, Inc.

• Evaluate and assess supplier performance, identify areas for improvement, develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans through implementation and closure, ensuring timely and effective resolution of quality issues. • Conduct supplier audits, champion Structured Problem-Solving efforts with Suppliers, perform Production Process Verifications (PPV’s), and participate in PPAP review processes. • Analyze supplier defect/performance data and utilize analytical tools to identify trends and drive preventative measures. • Collaborate with cross-functional teams – including Engineering, Supply Chain, and Program Quality – to proactively mitigate risks and ensure supplier compliance. • Champion a proactive quality culture within the supply base with APQP principles and tools. • Review and interpret technical documentation such as drawings, specifications, and requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree with 4-8+ years of experience or 8-10+ years of engineering experience in lieu of a degree
  • Possess Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Communicates effectively at all levels of an organization with interpersonal relationship building skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Change agent driven towards Continuous Improvement and achieving Results
  • Read and interpret technical documents, as well as a working knowledge of GD&T
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suits (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Working knowledge of the principles and the purpose of a Quality Management System (AS9100)
  • Proficient in data analytics.
