We are looking for a Software Developer III who displays a deep interest in and passion for backend architecture, mentorship, and problem solving; someone who likes to own real-time systems end to end and help other engineers grow. Reporting directly to the Manager, Data Engineering, this position will be responsible for leading the design and development of backend software that processes real-time weather data flows — including alerts, observations, and AccuWeather Alerts — powering AccuWeather's consumer and enterprise products. Serving as a software development expert, you will build new processing services and workflows to improve the reliability and scalability of our real-time weather platforms, while owning monitoring and data quality standards for the systems you lead. You will demonstrate expert skill across relational databases, functional programming, and cloud technologies, mentor less experienced developers, and collaborate with peers and stakeholders in an Agile-based environment, to deliver best of breed real-time infrastructure that caters to a global audience. Key Responsibilities - Lead the design, development, testing, and maintenance of complex backend software processors that ingest, validate, transform, and distribute real-time weather data. - Own end-to-end backend data flows from source system through validation to production database, including monitoring, operational efficiency, and incident response. - Design and implement new processing capabilities and enhance existing processors to support new weather data providers, data formats, business requirements, and product features. - Apply advanced backend and software development skills to build data processing software that's easily tested, deployed, and monitored. - Own design and implementation of database schemas and supporting SQL objects used by backend processing applications. - Define the reliability, performance, and scalability bar for backend processing software in your domain, and hold new development to it. - Drive technical alignment across software engineers, data operations, product managers, and business stakeholders on the approach for complex processing solutions, resolving disagreements on technical direction. - Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve complex software defects, production issues, and operational incidents affecting weather data processing systems. - Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to other software developers through collaboration, knowledge sharing, and engineering best practices. - Mentor less experienced Software Developers in relational schema design and backend data processing practices. - Define documentation standards for software components, processing workflows, and operational procedures, ensuring the team's collective knowledge stays current and usable without you in the room. - Evaluate emerging technologies and development practices for team-wide adoption, making the call on what gets brought into the processing platform and what doesn't. - Contribute to technical planning and the continuous improvement of development processes, quality assurance practices, and team workflows. Qualifications - Required Qualifications: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field. - 5+ years of experience designing and developing backend software or distributed systems. - Advanced experience developing software using Scala or Java, with experience applying functional programming concepts. - Expertise in developing and deploying applications in cloud environments such as Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud. - Deep experience with relational database architecture, including schema design, SQL, and performance optimization at scale. - Proven experience architecting solutions for structured and semi-structured data formats such as XML and JSON, RESTful APIs, and regular expressions, across multiple external data providers. - Experience leading software design discussions, code reviews, and technical decision-making. - Preferred Qualifications: - Experience designing or developing event-driven, distributed, or message-based systems. - Experience working with weather, environmental, geospatial, or other Earth science data. - Experience integrating data from multiple external providers or APIs. - Proficiency with Microsoft SQL Server. - Proficiency developing applications on Microsoft Azure. - Experience providing technical guidance to other software developers. - Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced development environment. - Skills & Competencies: - Communicates at a high level across verbal and written communication with internal and external teams; leading training and informational sessions. - Proficiency and demonstrated experience in communicating technical concepts, software designs, and data processing workflows to both technical and non-technical audiences. - Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to evaluate complex technical challenges and develop effective software solutions. - Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills, including the ability to investigate and resolve complex production issues. - Ability to provide technical guidance and share knowledge with other team members. • Design, develop, and maintain Anaplan models supporting Territory and Quota Planning and Incentive Compensation Management • Lead model building efforts end to end, including requirements gathering, design, development, UAT, training, and production support • Utilize Anaplan architecture best practices (DISCO, ALM, UX, performance) • Improve existing models focusing on performance, usability, auditability, and long-term scalability • Identify feature gaps or planning process inefficiencies within the sales organization • Design and oversee multi-model, multi-workspace architectures that scale with the business • Define end-to-end data flows, integrations, and system dependencies • Partner with IT and Data teams to design governed integrations (e.g., Salesforce, Snowflake, ERP) • Own model lifecycle management, versioning, and technical governance • Evaluate new Anaplan capabilities and drive architectural evolution

• Develop and customize responsive websites, templates, and landing pages using HubSpot CMS. • Collaborate with UX/UI designers to translate mockups and wireframes into functional, accessible web interfaces. • Build reusable components and front-end modules using HTML5, CSS3 (SASS/LESS), and JavaScript (ES6+), with experience in frameworks like React, Vue.js, or Angular. • Work with HubSpot CRM to build workflows, automate marketing tasks, and integrate forms or data-driven components. • Extend backend functionality using Node.js and build/consume RESTful APIs. • Manage code versioning and collaboration using Git. • Ensure all deliverables meet Web Accessibility Standards (WCAG) by testing with tools like Lighthouse, WAVE, and screen readers. • Troubleshoot and optimize performance across all devices and platforms. • Collaborate with marketing and tech teams to support ongoing digital campaigns and initiatives.

• Design and ship vault strategies: take a strategy from thesis and design doc through implementation, simulation, deployment, and live operation — RWAs, leveraged lending, yield aggregation, cross-protocol allocation, perpetuals, prediction markets, and new product types we haven't built yet. • Optimize strategies: signals research, execution optimization, gas-aware rebalancing across tokens and chains, liquidity and duration management. • Run protocol and asset due diligence: evaluate new protocols, collateral assets, and chains for inclusion in strategies — solvency mechanics, oracle design, redemption paths, liquidity depth, and more. • Own risk parameters: supply caps, LLTV settings, concentration limits, VaR-based exposure models, and automated de-risking logic that pulls positions when conditions deteriorate. • Integrate new protocols and chains: build and validate adapters for lending markets, DEX aggregators, and bridges; verify strategy behavior against forked-chain simulation before capital touches it. • Monitor what you build: extend our risk-monitoring and alerting systems, define the conditions that page someone, and participate in the on-call rotation for the strategies you own. • Support launches and clients: partner with growth, capital markets, and client teams on new vault and strategy launches.
